• Who is this person?

I have a nuclear family that comprises my father, mother and younger sister. Out of all these people, I spend the majority of my time with my sister. She is a thoughtful and considerate person. I have been taking care of her since the time she was born. So, we have spent a lot of time learning together and exploring new things.

• When are you usually together?

• What do you do together?

With time, she became my best friend. I can rely on her and trust her blindly. We share our interests with each other, career plans, and good or bad experiences. Not just that, but now that she has grown up, we also share our love lives. But that doesn’t mean we don’t fight. We fight like cats and dogs, sometimes verbally and other times – physically.

When not outside, we are usually together the entire day. We read books together and watch movies or web series. Whenever I don’t feel good, she is always there to encourage me. We admire each other and sometimes follow footsteps as well.

• And explain why you spend most time with this member of your family.

Although younger, sometimes, she says a few things that sound extremely logical and intellectual. She is a constant reminder that I must put my best foot forward for whatever I do. She wants to become an actress and I am leaving no stone unturned in helping her fulfil this dream. I just hope she realizes that she is extremely special to me. Also, even if we go our separate ways a few years down the lane, we have promised each other that we will stay in touch and talk every day.

• Who is this person?

In this world full of contemporary people, a majority of human beings want to live away from their elders. However, I am fortunate that my grandparents are with me, consistently blessing me. I am extremely close to them, especially my grandfather. He is my favourite person in the entire world. We spend a lot of quality time together.

• When are you usually together?

• What do you do together?

During the evenings, on weekdays, we play a lot of mind games, such as crosswords, chess,, sliding puzzles and more. This helps us exercise our brains. On the other hand, on weekends, we play a variety of outdoor games. My grandfather believes that being mentally strong is as significant as being fit as a fiddle. In addition to this, he also loves trying diverse cuisines. We are constantly on Google, trying varying recipes and experimenting in the kitchen. Even though we don’t cook as deliciously as my grandmother does, the enthusiasm of my grandpa still motivates me to do a lot of things.

• And explain why you spend most time with this member of your family.

This is one of the reasons why I love spending time with him. He is a creative person, my partner-in-crime. He is the craziest in the family and is always ready to do pranks. While the rest of my family members always stay busy with their everyday work, my grandfather and I seek more benefits from weird activities. I love his different perspective. He believes that we should not leave any stone unturned in experimenting with things that amuse us.

The only thing that separates our duo from others is that my grandfather never turns down my ideas or makes me feel like I am a crazy person.

• Who is this person?

Being an introvert, there are very few people with whom I can easily open up to. Among all of them, my mother is the only person who is my closest confidante, strongest ally, and unwavering support system. Honestly, I don’t know what I would do and where I would be without her.

• When are you usually together?

It is actually the other way around, as we are kind of inseparable. We are only apart when I go to work or go out with friends, which is on rare occasions. As a result, some people often mistake us as siblings.

• What do you do together?

My day starts with helping out my mother with some daily chores. Then, after I return from work, we sit down with a cup of a preferred drink of the season or our all-time favorite, tea. Mostly, we discuss our day and bond over gossip and plans for the upcoming events. Then, she prepares dinner, while I do my study or help her when she needs.

My mother has always been my pillar of strength, providing me with invincible support and unfailing love during difficult times. Due to my shy nature, I get misjudged most of the time. She has been my rock in life, guiding me through with quiet strength and steadfast resolution, whether it is by listening to me or offering me a shoulder to cry on. Moreover, she has inspired and motivated me to follow my dreams and get over any barriers that stand in my way because she believes in me. It is my mother who gives me the confidence to take on life’s obstacles head-on since I know that I am not alone, no matter what happens.

For me, family support tends to come first because of the enduring connection, unwavering affection, and common past that define family connections.
