The pie charts compare the share of four types of food consumed across the world in 2008 with two countries , China and India.

We can observe from the charts that the consumption of processed food covers large proportion among the various categories, not only around the world, but also in the mentioned two countries.

The processed food intake accounts to 41% of the average consumption across the world with slightly lower percentages in China (34%) and India (39%). On the other hand, vegetables and fruits intake share 29% in the world with slightly less than one-third of the consumption in China and India.

Nearly quarter is consumed by the animal around the world and India. On the contrary, merely 15% of food intake by animal is recorded in China. Lowest proportion of 4% is covered in Nuts and seeds category, followed by, 11% and 19% share in India and China respectively in the said category.
