Evaluation Criteria For WT2
  • Coherence & Cohesion- how logically ideas flow using cohesive devices.
  • Task Response - how well you answer the question with relevant main ideas.
  • Lexical Resource - your range of vocabulary.
  • Grammatical Range & Accuracy - your grammar and sentence structures.
Task Response
For Task Response, you'll get a band score from 0 (off-topic) to 5 (fully answers the question with relevant main points and supporting details).

Aim for at least a 5 here.
Grammar & Structuring
For Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range & Accuracy you can score from 0 (inadequate) to 5 (highly effective complexity and precision).

Try to get 4s and 5s.

Scoring
Each criterion gets its own score. These are averaged and rounded to the nearest whole or 0.5 band to give your overall Writing score from 0 to 9.

Get scores above 5 and you'll likely reach your Writing goal!
