The grammatical condition that the verb or verbs in a sentence match the number, person, and gender of the subject is known as subject-verb agreement.

1. When a subject is composed of many nouns connected by the conjunction "and", the subject is regarded as a plural, and the verb used is plural.

For example, Happiness is worth striving for.

2. Uncountable nouns act as singular subjects.

E.g., Two hours is enough to complete the work.

3. Use the singular form of the verb to refer to distances, lengths of time, or total sums of money taken as a whole.

E.g., She goes to the shop, buys some food and returns home on time.

4. If there are multiple active verbs in a sentence, each one must agree with the subject.

E.g., Our teachers have made coming to school mandatory.

5. The subject-verb agreement rules do not apply to gerunds, infinitives, or participles.

E.g., Each boy and girl from our locality goes to school.

6. When used as the subject, 'each' and 'every' count as singular, even if multiple nouns follow them.
