Independent clause:
Imagine a sentence that is like a group of friends hanging out. An independent clause is a cool kid who can show up solo and still have a great time. It's a complete sentence all by itself, no need for any buddies to tag along.
Examples
1.The children built a sandcastle on the beach. (Subject, verb, and complete thought!)
The delicious food disappeared quickly. (You know exactly what happened!)
Dependent clause
While an independent clause can stand alone, a dependent clause needs the help of its main character, the independent clause, to make complete sense.
