Frequently Asked Questions
How is OET different from other exams like IELTS or TOEFL?
The fundamental difference between OET and other language tests like IELTS and TOEFL is that the former is specifically designed for healthcare professionals who want to migrate to an English-speaking country. Therefore, OET follows a unique scientific evaluation process meant to assess the language proficiency of the medical experts.
I am training to be a nurse and want to migrate to Canada. Am I eligible to take the OET?
Yes, you are. OET is meant to evaluate the language skills of 12 medical professions, including Nursing. The others are Dentistry, Pharmacy, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Podiatry, Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Optometry and Veterinary Science. Also, Nursing is the top-ranking profession when it comes to taking the OET.
Is OET the same for all medical professionals?
Although the format of the four subtests, Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, remains the same for all the 12 healthcare professions, the content for the Speaking and Writing tests differs from profession to profession. In contrast, the content for Listening and Reading is the same for all healthcare experts.
What are the facilities that you offer for the OET online classes?
