Travel and tourism is the largest industry in the world. But calculating its economic impact is quite difficult. The one thing everybody can agree on though is that it’s huge. There are two things that have influenced the growth of Tourism. There are first, social-factors and secondly, technology and the way it’s developed. Let’s consider the social factors first of all. Demand for tourism is determined mainly by the amount of wealth a country has, which is why countries such as Japan Australia the USA, and Western European countries have contributed most in terms of tourist numbers in the past. However, growing wealth in developing countries will mean that demand for holidays abroad will take off there in the near future boosting tourism enormously. That said, the majority of tourists are still from what is called the developed nations; however, studies show that their number will not rise much further in the next few decades because their populations are fairly stable. As a result, there’ll be a growth in the number of retired people who will have more time on their hands. This will influence the kind of Tourism wanted. Fewer skiing holidays will be required, but they’ll be an increase in the number of people wanting to visit art galleries. |

Explanation
For the first question, it is given in the passage that travel and tourism is the largest industry in the world. But the calculation of the economic impact of this is quite difficult, and everybody agrees that it’s huge. So, the correct answer is economic impact. Here, the calculation means estimation, difficult refers to grueling, and huge means vast.
For the second question, we understand that there are two things that have influenced tourism growth: the social-factors and technology. So, the correct answer is Social-factors and technology. Here, social-factor is hyphenated so that it can be counted as one word, and growth means progress. For the third question, it is given in the passage that the demand for tourism is determined mainly by the amount of wealth a country has. So, the correct answer is Tourism demand. Here, the amount of wealth a country has means the monetary value of a country. For the fourth question, we understand from the passage that the majority of the tourists are still from what is called the developed nations. So, the correct answer is developed nations. Here, majority means more than half of. For the fifth question, it is clearly mentioned in the passage that in the next few decades, there will be an increase in the number of people wanting to visit the art galleries, instead of skiing holidays.
