British Columbia is one of the largest regions of Canada. A lot of immigrants like to settle in this area due to its rapid economic growth. The main attraction of the province is its cities Vancouver and Victoria.
British Columbia’s economy is a blend of public and private sectors. The service sector is one of the biggest industrial sectors, followed by manufacturing.
What is the British Columbia PNP Draw?
The British Columbia PNP draw is a pooling system that invites people from the Express Entry and Skilled Worker programs to live and work there. In order to be considered for BC PNP, candidates must fulfill the point-based system requirements and must meet the minimal cut-off scores.
How to Apply for British Columbia Programs?
Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the British Columbia province in order to be considered for the British Columbia programs. Also, candidates must satisfy the requirements of the program for which they are applying, such as Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Semi-skilled worker program. Based on the number of applicants and their point score, applicants are nominated and issued a letter of interest.
What is a Letter of Interest?
Many people refer to the drawings as “letters of interest.” The province of British Columbia sends invitations to the top-ranked candidates seeking the nomination. Only individuals who have received a letter of interest are eligible to apply for a PR. Candidates must submit their applications within 30 days of receiving the letter of interest.
How many nomination certificates are issued by the authorities of British Columbia?
Each province in Canada has its own set of criteria and procedures for selecting nomination candidates. As a result, the Immigration and Refugee Commission of Canada (IRCC) has permitted British Columbia to issue up to 10,000 applications per year.
Around 6,500 nomination certificates were issued in 2019. Each nomination is based on the structure of the program as well as its own set of criteria. Moreover, nominations are also influenced by the nomination trends and the current number of pending applications.
Latest BC PNP Draw — What’s New?
The most recent draw under BC PNP was held on November 18, 2025, targeting the Entrepreneur Immigration stream.
- In this draw, the province issued a total of 24 invitations (ITAs).
- Out of these, 19 invitations were issued to applicants under the Entrepreneur – Base category (with a minimum score of 121).
- Additionally, fewer than 5 invitations went to the Entrepreneur – Regional Pilot stream (with a minimum score of 115).
This draw reflects the continuing trend in 2025: the BC PNP giving priority to entrepreneurs and high-impact candidates, especially considering that general Skilled-Worker draws have become scarce.
Earlier in 2025, the federal government cut B.C.’s provincial nomination allocation from 8,000 (2024) down to 4,000 — a 50% reduction. Later, B.C. received an increase: an extra 1,254 nominations, bringing the 2025 total allocation to 5,254. With fewer overall slots but a renewed quota, B.C. appears to be using its draws more strategically, favoring entrepreneurs and roles with “high economic impact.”
