Why does he/she enjoy growing plants?
The person I will be talking about is my elder brother, Keshanth. He is someone who has an unwavering passion for growing plants and loves everything about agriculture!
Who is the person?
I know him very well because we grew up together in the countryside. Our father, who is a farmer, taught us everything we know about farming and plants. We share a special bond, and I’ve always looked up to him for his dedication to plant cultivation.
What does he/she grow?
My brother grows a wide variety of plants along with our father. In our backyard, he has a set of neem trees, colourful flowers, and fruit trees such as guava, mango, and orange.
Where does he/she grow them?
The place he chose to grow his plants is our backyard. Our home is like a mini garden filled with plants and has an aromatic fragrance all around, thanks to his efforts. During breezy evenings, we as a family spend time together in our backyard chit chatting and eating the munchies made by our mother.

He grows plants because he deeply cares about people’s health and the environment and he also believes in organic farming which avoids harmful chemicals. He uses natural fertilizers to help his plants grow strong and healthy. Keshanth not only sees it as his hobby, but it is also a major source of his peace and happiness!
Who is this person?
The person I am about to talk to is my neighbour, Mrs. Smith, an old lady who loves gardening. She has always been a cheerful woman who has been passionate about her plants.
What does he/she grow?
Mrs. Smith grows all sorts of plants in her garden, from pretty flowers like roses, lilies, and daisies to special plants like orchids and tiny bonsai trees. Not to forget her fruit trees like the apples, oranges, and lemons too!
Where does he/she grow them?
Her garden is in her backyard and not very big, but she makes the most of it. Everywhere around her house you look, there is something green and growing.

Why does he/she enjoy growing plants?
Mrs. Smith just loves being out in her garden since it is her happy place. She usually says that it is peaceful and more like therapy for her soul. Watching a tiny seed turn into a big, beautiful plant makes her really happy. She also loves seeing butterflies and bees buzzing around her flowers. It makes her feel connected to nature and reminds her how wonderful the world is.

My sister, Rohini is the first person who comes to my mind when I think about plants. Since our high school days, her deep love for plants has always transformed any space into a lively and peaceful environment. She finds happiness in our garden where she spends endless hours taking care of her plants.

Being a lover of nature, my sister says that every plant of hers has a story to tell. From the vibrant rose blossoms to the red plumpy tomatoes on her vegetable side, each plant shows her desire for peace and connection with nature.

Yes, it’s good for children to learn about gardening and plants. Even though some people might say kids should focus more on academics and that planting skills won’t help them in their future jobs, I still believe it is at least a very good hobby that helps the environment that we live in.
- What are the differences between traditional and modern agriculture?
To put it in simpler terms, traditional farming uses old ways like hand tools and natural ways to grow crops, passed from older people. Whereas, modern farming uses machines, chemicals, and new technology to grow more crops.
