Bare Your Heart – Idiom of the Day for IELTS Speaking

Definition: If you bare your heart to someone, you reveal your innermost thoughts and feelings to them.

Example:

• I decided to bare my heart to my best friend because I couldn’t keep things to myself any longer.
• I can’t make out why I bared my heart to him although we didn’t know each other that well. 

Note about Idioms in IELTS

You should be really careful when using idioms in your IELTS speaking test. You can only be sure that you are using an idiom correctly if you have seen or heard it used in context. If you’ve only seen the idiom on a list, don’t use it because it can make your speech forced and unnatural.
