Quebec Express Entry Program

If your plan is to grab the Quebec Express Entry program and settle down in this province of Canada, you must know that Quebec does not have any official express entry program for skilled workers. However, it definitely has an alternative.

Quebec has a slightly different program, known as the Quebec Skilled Worker program. This application program is for every skilled worker who wishes to become a permanent resident in Quebec, irrespective of the country they come from.

Quebec has a unique agreement with the Canadian government on immigration. This province has its own rules and regulations when it comes to choosing immigrants to work and live there. So, if you are willing to follow suit, you will have two different ways to apply:

• You can apply to the government of Quebec to get the Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec [CSQ]). This way, you will be evaluated by the province as per its own rules and regulations. Also, the certificate will show that Quebec has accepted you as a skilled worker and that you can now migrate there.
• The second way is Quebec choosing you and offering a CSQ. In such a scenario, you should apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for PR.

As far as the eligibility factor is concerned, it is evaluated on the basis of nine different factors. Quebec Skilled Worker Program points are given as per the Immigration Quebec selection criteria to discover the possible immigrants that are likely to prosper economically in Quebec. To get qualified, a solo applicant should have at least 50 points. And, somebody with a spouse should have a minimum of 59 points.

Also, you must keep in mind that the instructions and guidelines here will be different from other express entry programs. Hence, you would have to act accordingly.
