Every individual is blessed with a creative mind that allows them to try new things and engage in activities that allow them to reach their full potential. Here, I’d like to talk about a creative person I admire. My maternal aunt’s artistic abilities have always piqued my interest. She’s a multi-talented and creative artist who excels in practically every field, including cooking, painting, baking, pottery, sculpture, and upcycling clothing. To be honest, she has carved out a niche for herself. 

My aunt has received many laurels from her childhood for her artistic skills. She has created many worthwhile products using waste products, made different paintings, sketches, and portraits, baked a delectable three-tier cake, and many more. She also handles social media accounts and runs a YouTube channel where she posts and uploads all the tutorials of her cooking, baking, sculpting, 3D drawings, and paintings. 

In the booming world of the internet, where it is easy to create a business, I suggested she sell online. Her business gained massive popularity and grew tremendously, to everyone’s surprise. To sum up, my aunt achieved significant success through her online business. Recently, she gifted me a beautiful gown with 3D floral embellishments on my birthday. I was highly delighted when I got to know that the gown was upcycled using my mother’s dress. The prominent reason why I adore and admire my aunt’s artistic skills is her tendency and devotion to putting any product into use.

I am currently working in the Marketing field, which requires a lot of creativity and innovation. Thus, I have chances to work with a lot of creative people. Among them, there is one person I admire the most, named Tung Juno. His original name is Le Quang Tung, founder of a design agency.

The first time I met him, I was strongly impressed by his height, approximately 1.95 meters in comparison with the average of 1,70 meters of a grown up man in Vietnam. He has graduated from FPT Arena Multimedia, a top school for commercial design in Vietnam. He is so passionate about this field that he founded a company named RIO Agency – providing design services like company branding material, name cards, and so on.

He is famous for his creativity with art elements. For example, from an image of number 8, he can give you 20 ideas of design in 10 minutes. Admittedly, this special ability has been made use of well in his career, making his company among top list in design field of Vietnam.

To many people, his ability is what he is born with. However, I believe that, without practice and nurturing in the right way, creativity can disappear. You help to keep it, and raise it like raising a child, hard but enjoyable. Therefore, I admire him not only because of his creativity but also the efforts he has made to keep and develop that ability.

Education systems that prioritize student performance through memorization methods and refrain them from thinking creatively. Therefore, many educational systems have started guiding their students to develop their creative skills through artistic, musical activities, storytelling, project-based learning, and debate activities.

• Why do some people find it difficult to be creative?

The creative process presents challenges to some individuals because they experience performance anxiety. As a result, they develop the fear of making mistakes or receiving negative evaluations from others. The majority of work environments make such individuals follow consolidated procedures instead of testing out new and unknown concepts. Due to this, many couldn’t share their innovative ideas. A person needs to experience various life situations which include different cultures and artistic expressions to achieve their maximum creative potential.

• Which professions demand workers to demonstrate exceptional levels of creative ability?

Many professions require a high level of creativity such as artists, writers, designers, architects, and filmmakers who need to use their imagination to create unique works of art. I believe that creative thinking skills are imperative for professionals in advertising marketing and product development who need to create customer attraction strategies while developing new solutions. Therefore, creativity is an essential component for system design and its improvement.

• Which activities help parents to develop their children’s creative abilities?

Parents can help their children develop creative skills by helping them pursue various activities. In this way, children can improve their imaginative capabilities through activities like drawing, storytelling, music, and building activities. Parents should show their gratitude for their children’s ideas instead of criticizing them. Such a welcoming space can help children believe in independent thinking skills while they create their artistic work.
