My first teaching experience in my life is still fresh in my mind. I taught Ayushi, my younger sister, around two years ago. Back then, I was a graduate student in English at a university. As a result, my aunt requested me to tutor my younger sister in English, as she struggled with the subject in the ninth grade.

Ayushi had to take her final exam, and her progress in English, an academic subject, was insufficient. Then, a few weeks before the final test, it was my time to assist her with the subject. Completing the course and assisting her with the difficult grammar issues in only a few weeks was no simple task. But I accepted the task and began instructing her.

Even though English is one of my favourite subjects, it was not for her. I had to modify it from the beginning since she didn’t comprehend tenses or subject-verb agreement. I tutored her for approximately five to six weeks, and she passed the exam with flying colours. In fact, I recommended that she study for at least a couple of hours if she wanted to do well on the exam, and she did so.

It was difficult for me to educate her at first because I had no prior teaching expertise. It was more challenging because my sister was first uninterested in studying. However, when I attempted to pique her attention, she became attentive and devoted after a few weeks of effort and barriers. So, I realized what strategy to employ to educate her. It was an amazing experience, and I’m no longer hesitant to teach others as before.

Teaching is a very noble profession, and I acknowledge that they play an important role in moulding and shaping the students’ character and future. Here, I’d like to talk about the experience of teaching my nephew, who was in his eighth grade. He had great difficulty in learning and understanding Chemistry. Moreover, his academic performance in chemistry was not up to the mark, and as his final exams were nearing, my brother asked me to tutor him for a few weeks. He was a dunce and helping him with the complicated topics of chemistry was not an easy task at all. But then, I decided to give it a shot and started teaching him. He was struggling with the equations and formulas, so I told him intriguing stories of how each and every component was discovered. I could sense that he became interested. I taught him for a month, and slowly, he progressed. Later, when his results were out, I was shocked to see that he had achieved a good score in Chemistry. Consequently, my brother thanked me for helping his son. I felt extremely proud that my coaching and training had made my nephew score good marks.
