Life is not always about fun and frolic, at times, one also gets frail and feeble. Sickness and health issues are inevitable and no matter how to fit one keeps, diseases of one kind or the other happen at some point. Thankfully, I don’t get sick now and then, however, I am a human being and get sick sometimes. A time when I had to see a doctor was when I suffered from Jaundice. It came out of nowhere and the situation kept on getting worse without me getting to know about it. I kept on overlooking the symptoms and slid them all under the cover till the time when the situation got too adverse to ignore.
I was in class 8th when I suffered from Jaundice. I thought it was a normal viral fever which caused me to throw up now and then. However, my prolonged indigestion, infirmity, and recurrent dizziness alarmed my parents and my friends. My teacher noticed the yellowing of my eye and it was then that I finally decided to go for a blood test. And then something I was praying not to happen, happened, and that too, to an alarming degree. My Bilirubin and Biliverdin levels increased. The doctor said that if I had gotten late even by a day, the situation would have immensely worsened. I was then admitted to the hospital for over two weeks with a restricted diet and bland juices.
I did not like to be there even a bit, however, I knew that it was important. It was so monotonous for me to stay there and I used to pray to get out of there as soon as possible. Finally, I got relieved after the situation went back to normal and I took a sigh.
