Sample Answer 1
Here is the sample for “Describe an item of electronic equipment that you find useful” topic:
- what is it where you would get (buy) it from
There is no denying the fact that electronic equipments have managed to make our lives much more efficient than before. However, coming to the items that I would like to buy, it would be a Kindle. Launched by Amazon, this product has acquired quite a momentum when it comes to popularity. I can easily get it from Amazon – the largest eCommerce portal across the world.
- what features would it have (or, special features you would like it to have)
A kindle is a small, hand-held electronic device that is only for reading books. Just the way you download songs on an iPod or an MP3 player, Kindle allows you to download and read books on them. It’s a touch-screen device that can store thousands of books at a time. It has a high-contrast screen that lets you read even in bright sunshine. If needed, we can also adjust the text size. The Kindle has an inbuilt WiFi and 3G connections amongst other features.
- and explain why you would like to have it.
I am a huge bookworm. I like reading varying books whenever I get time. Generally, I carry a physical book when travelling. However, it’s not always possible. Kindle is a convenient and handy product that I can take anywhere. At a time, I could also read multiple books. And then, it is an environment-friendly product as well.

- what is it where you would get (buy) it from
Since I was very small, I have had a special interest in cooking. So, it is no surprise that, now that I have grown up, I dream of having an oven with rings for cooking on top, which is very popular overseas. In my country, this kind of oven is only sold at big appliance stores.
- what features would it have (or, special features you would like it to have)
- and explain why you would like to have it.
Different from a normal oven, this one provides more stable and exact temperatures, which is a critical factor in baking. Besides, this has four oven top elements, which is highly convenient because it allows you to cook and bake at the same time. It also saves a lot of space in your kitchen as it is free-standing. Another feature that I would like the oven to have is a self-cleaning system. If you cook frequently, you will definitely appreciate this facility. It is inevitable that when you cook, your oven/cooker will get dirty. As a result, with the self-cleaning feature, it is much easier for us to clean.
