SAMPLE ANSWER:
For my last birthday, I was given a pleasant surprise by my boyfriend. At that time, I was on a business trip in Venice. Thus, I had expected that I would have a boring birthday without my beloved friends and family. That expectation made me feel so empty and depressed for a while. To brighten my mood, I took a day off to go around the city alone.
On my birthday, I woke up at 7 a.m but stayed in bed until 8 a.m when I received a call from my boyfriend. I’d thought that he’d call to wish me for my birthday. Though I was fully aware of that fact, to be honest, I felt a bit hurt. But it turned out to be a great surprise from him because he took the early morning flight to get to my place in the beginning of the day. I was deliriously happy that I immediately jumped out of the bed. By the moment I opened the door of my hotel room, I could see a lovely man with flower in hand and bright smile on his face. He gave me a warm hug that I melted in. Then, we spent a day together to explore the city and enjoy a special cuisine there.
I was over the moon when I saw him. Until now, it is still the most pleasant surprise I have ever had, which reminds me to appreciate his efforts to make me happy, and to make me remain deeply in love with him.
