Sample Answer 1
While the invention of the wheel, the electric bulb, the telephone, the computer are some of the engineering marvels that have affected human lives, in the present situation, I think, without the internet, most of the things we use would become futile. So, I think the invention of the internet is highly critical for our lives.

The invention of the internet cannot be attributed to an individual. Its origin is rooted in the USA in the 1950s. With the Cold War at its height, the USA realised the need for a communication system that could give them an upper hand. Computers were used at that time but were not as sophisticated as we see them. The scientists needed a system that could help them communicate over longer distances. Gradually, a number of scientists and engineers came up with the networking technology named the Arpanet. Finally, computer scientists Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn are credited for inventing the internet communication protocols that we use almost every minute of our lives.
As aforementioned, the internet has become an indispensable part of our lives in the age of globalization. People can connect with each other over great distances, participate in seminars and courses without being present at the location, conduct their business and even entertain themselves. All of these and more are possible just because of the internet. Its importance was felt severely during the recent pandemic when everyone was locked in their homes. Just because those scientists and researchers had worked hard years ago, we could communicate, educate, buy or sell and keep ourselves motivated in dire times.

Sample Answer 2
There is a popular saying, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” This sentence means we invent because we have necessities. Our needs and curiosity have led us to the most significant inventions. One of the inventions that changed people’s lives in the 21st century is online car booking sites like Ola, Uber and Rapido. These are apps used to travel from place to place at a reasonable price.
Ola was founded in December 2010 by Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati with a mission to build mobility for a billion people. In 2009, Uber was founded as Ubercab by Garrett Camp, a computer programmer and the co-founder of StumbleUpon and Travis Kalanick. Uber was invented in 2009, whereas Ola was invented in the year 2010. With the availability of these inventions, life has not been the same ever since.
These inventions have changed our lives, making our lives a lot easier than it was earlier. Earlier, people had to walk to the taxi stand and ask about dozens of drivers to drive them to places. Taking advantage of this situation, some would reject and some would demand a considerable amount. But now, most people in the whole world use these apps for communication purposes. In this global pandemic, people use these apps to travel to places at convenient prices. It is much safer and time consuming. Transportation has advanced with the help of these two applications.
