Recently you saw an article in a newspaper/journal about a city/town you know and some of the information in the article was incorrect. Write a letter to the editor regarding this. In your letter, you should tell:
- how you know about this city/town
- what information was incorrect
- what the editor should do about this.
Sample Letter
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to you regarding an article named Bangalorites, published in your newspaper on February 2nd, 2021. I’m a resident of Bangalore and have been residing in Jayanagar for the past twenty years. After finishing my studies at Jain College, I grabbed a job in one of the local companies. Thus, I can say that I know Bangalore pretty well, especially the Jayanagar area.
In the article that was published last week, you mentioned that there is an array of attractions and facilities in the area. While most of the details were accurate and efficient for newcomers and old residents, you mentioned that the rooftop cafe is located in the 9th block. In reality, it is in the 4th block.
Since your newspaper is quite followed and people read it daily, providing inaccurate information may mislead people. It may also impact your reputation. To correct this goof-up, you may write a separate article on the rooftop cafe and talk about its correct address.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to inform you about the misinformation of a particular section in an article regarding Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan, published on last Thursday June 21st, in the Times Newspaper.
I belong to the beautiful mountains of Pakistan, particularly Hunza, which is my hometown. Also, I brought up in Hunza and completed my academic education from school till college in a local institute situated in the valley.
The information regarding the school named The Harmony Public School, that it was established by Sir agha khan, is an absolute error, because the one who built that school is my great grandfather. His name is Mohammed Sultan and the school was built in 1876, but the article shows the wrong information which needs to be fixed.
Would you please re-check the facts and edit the accurate information in your article? You can also contact me if you need some other information about it. I genuinely want the world to get the right knowledge and embrace it as your newspaper is quite popular among the people.

The meaning is generally clear in spite of a rather restricted range or a lack of precision in word choice. A very limited range of grammatical structures is used.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Hope you are doing well. I saw an article written by you in the daily newspaper which has information about the renowned city Kanpur. Your description about the place in really comprehensive but I wanted to point out few inaccurate information that you have mentioned in your writing because this is my hometown and I have lived for more than 20 years.
Firstly, the timing of the famous JK Temple has modified to new schedule but you wrote old daily hours which will misguide the tourist or the people who are reading your article. Also, the most attracted hotel “The Landmark” has been moved to a new location instead of the old address that you captured in your article.
I am attaching the copy of the new timings for your reference to update your work. Moreover, you will also find a card of the hotel which has new location address with postal code. Kindly, please update this information in your article moving forward.

The meaning is generally clear in spite of a rather restricted range of Vocabulary, user needs to enhance the vocabulary and use more synonyms. There are minor inconsistencies in tone of the letter.The range of structures is limited and rather repetitive, more grammatical structures should be used for a variety in the expression.
