Your town council has decided to demolish an historic building due to lack of funds to renovate. Write a letter to your counselor . In your letter, you should say:

• why it is important to preserve the historic building
• how the funds could be generated.

Sample Letter

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Pari, and I am a resident of your city, Ambala. I am writing this letter to communicate my concern about the latest decision of demolishing an historic building ‘The Rose Temple.’ Just the past week this building celebrated its centenary.

For decades, this building has been a cherished symbol of history in our city. I am disturbed by the fact that the lack of sufficient funds for renovation is the reason behind demolishing this building. The building has existed since the pre-independence era and has been a true mark of our culture.

As far as the funds are concerned, I can understand that the issue would be taxing for you and other authorities. However, if possible, you can raise funds from the public and get it renovated. I am sure people would happily contribute to providing an entirely new outlook to this building.
