How much time is allotted for the Writing portion of the PTE exam?

The PTE exam combines the Speaking and Writing portions of the test into one section. The total duration for the Speaking and Writing section of the PTE test is 54-67 minutes. The time allotted for the Writing portion of this section is approximately 30 minutes.

How many essays should be written in PTE?

One of the task types included in the Writing portion of the PTE exam is the 'Write Essay'. In this question type, candidates are required to write an argumentative essay within a given word limit. The number of questions that can be asked for this task ranges from 1 to 2. Thus, candidates can be asked to write 1-2 essays for the PTE.

What are the tasks in the Writing segment of the PTE test?

The Writing section of the PTE Academic test consists of two tasks. The first writing task is 'Summarize Written Text', where candidates have to summarize a given text. The second writing task is 'Write Essay', where candidates have to write an argumentative essay on a given topic.

Does going over the word limit in PTE Writing affect my score?

Again, for the Write Essay item type, the factors determining the score are Content, Structure and Coherence, Form, Linguistic Range, Grammar Usage, Vocabulary and Spelling.
