Sample Answer 1
I have travelled to many places in India and the Himachal Pradesh trip with my family was one of the best. Among various landmarks in Shimla, the summer capital of Himachal Pradesh, we visited the Himachal State Museum. Built in a Victorian-era style with sprawling lawns all around the area, this museum was once the residence of Lord William Beresford and, after independence, became home to several Indian government officials. Later, on January 26th, 1974, the house was finally converted into a museum with the aim to preserve various historical and archaeological artifacts.

We visited this museum in 2016 when we planned to make a trip to various places in Himachal Pradesh, beginning with the capital. The museum is divided into five main galleries, namely Pre-Historic Gallery, Wood-Carving Gallery, Wall Painting Gallery, Archaeology Gallery and Numismatic Gallery. Other than that, there are other galleries like the Himachal Archaeological Gallery, Photographs Gallery, Bronze Gallery, etc. These galleries display a wide range of heritage paintings, coins, photographs, sculptures, army collections, dolls, jewelry, and other artifacts that would otherwise become extinct. In addition, the museum also houses a library that stocks more than 9,000 books, journals and magazines on history and archaeology.
As I looked around the different galleries, I learnt a lot about the lifestyle and culture of the people living in the Himalayas. However, what piqued my interest the most was the collection of archaeological antiquities, including stone images that belonged to the 8th century. The property, along with the museum, is well maintained and has a thought-provoking atmosphere.

Sample Answer 2
I visited Victoria Memorial a few years back. There are many museums in my hometown. I don’t know all of them, but I can name a few. They are the Indian Museum, the Victoria Memorial, the Kolkata Museum etc. Among all these, the Victoria Memorial Museum is one of the best.
I happened to visit the Victoria Memorial twice till now. The first time was when I was a kid and again recently, a few years back, for some study work.
Museums are helpful for visitors because they tell a lot about the history of the place during a particular era. It might not be necessary for everyone, but there is nothing wrong with knowing how a city evolved to the present age. When I was young, I used to be very inquisitive about everything and anything. Thus, I used to visit a lot of museums and historical monuments holding my parents’ hands. I used to get awestruck by the enormous monuments and wonder how big they were. My second time at the Victoria Memorial was mainly for research purposes, as I mentioned earlier. I gathered information about the great fights, the newspaper collections, tools used in ancient times, and everything.
What I liked the most about this place was the way they’ve preserved all the articles and newspapers. It was clean and well maintained. They maintained discipline throughout. There was CCTV surveillance to check every corner. We were not allowed to touch anything, but we had to pay to take clips and photographs for the research. There were guides to show you the way through everything.
