Often skilled workers migrating to Canada have the question: What are possibly other ways to migrate to Canada besides the Federal Skilled Worker Program and Federal Skilled Trade Program?
The PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) is a joint federal-provincial-territorial immigration program in Canada. There are around 80 unique immigration pathways or ‘streams’ available under the PNP, each geared at a certain category of immigrants. For immigration selection, at least one immigration stream in each PNP is linked to the federal Express Entry system.
What is skilled labour?
Skilled labour is a subset of the workforce that has specialized skills and experience to carry out more complex physical or mental tasks than routine job functions. Skilled labour is generally characterized by higher education and expertise levels (attained through training), and higher salaries are generally associated with it.
How does PNP work?
It is open to candidates who have the talents, education, and job experience to contribute to the economy of a certain province or territory and who choose to reside in that province. Each province, however, has its own set of criteria.
