Sample Essay
Over the last few years, the tourism industry has made its way to reform the world, due to which the English language has risen to an increased fame. Thus, some people claim that the most widely conversed language, English, would one day predominate over other languages. However, there are a few drawbacks to having a single global language.
On the one hand, there are several advantages of having one language globally; it would enable greater understanding between countries and remove the communication barriers. Consequently, this will lead to economic development across the world, and trade would flourish between countries. For instance, when everyone speaks the same language, there will be no barriers to communication, and everyone will be on the same page, which will make life easy and remove misunderstandings between the countries. Moreover, if everyone spoke one language, it would be extremely easy to communicate with other countries across the globe.
Despite the benefit of easy communication, the single-global language system has some disadvantages, such as the disappearance of culture, loss of heritage of various communities and the extinction of tourism as an industry. In other words, a single language throughout the world would mean that innovation and growth of other languages would stop. Moreover, the tourism industry will collapse considerably with no cultural festivals. Thus, English as a single language would certainly prove a threat to small cultures worldwide.
To conclude, the rationale behind making English a single global language will definitely be unfavourable for the local languages and culture in the future. There are several positive aspects of having English as a single language, but consequently, there would be too many negative aspects as well.

In this growing world, more and more people are getting eager to know new places of different country as a result it is directly increasing tourism. Knowing and interacting in English has become the most important thing as there are different languages used in different countries, among all, the most common language is English. Some believe that tourism will be responsible to make English language used globally. This essay will discuss some merits and demerits of having a single language used over the globe.
On the one hand, using a single language over the world will be beneficial in easy interaction and hence will eliminate the language barrier. Besides interacting this will be also beneficial for children for studies as they will not need to learn multiple languages rather than this they will focus on more creative things. For instance, if a person is travelling to another country to explore then they will not need to hire translators for them as the tourist can easily interact with the people in English.
On the other hand, there are some cons to this situation such as, all the languages have direct relationship with the culture. If a selective language that is English will be used globally then the culture will get lost. In addition to it, many words meaning gets changed if that word is converted from native language to English. For example, many words are converted from Sanskrit to English yet some words whose meaning and emotion gets affected.
To sum up, keeping all the merits and demerits in mind, although there are enormous benefits of using a single language over the globe, there are important disadvantages outweigh the merits.

It is thought by some people that English, the most known language in the world, may become the one and only one globally spoken language in the near future. This would certainly be an aid in facilitating the communication between different cultures and getting vast employment opportunities across the world. Alternatively, it may be a challenge for non-native speakers and poses a threat to minority languages.
One of the advantages of having English as a global language is that it would enable good understanding between different cultures and countries, thereby creating easy flow of information and ideas. Another evident benefit is the greater chance of getting jobs anywhere in the world. With all people speaking the same language, there will be an increase in job opportunities and people with different native tongue can work together. I remember my brother saying that his language classes included people from various countries but language wasn’t a barrier to them as all were English speaking, for instance.
On the other hand, there are certain disadvantages in having one global language. Firstly, it would create hurdles to non-native speakers, especially those who are contributing to the scientific world through various means, such as journal papers and conferences. Also, this concept of one language leads to extinction of minority speaking languages which means the loss of a unique culture. It would eventually result in the collapse of tourism because there would be no reason to travel for leisure if all countries had the same language and common cultures.
In conclusion, a global language has its advantages and disadvantages. Maintaining local cultures and languages will help in creating a rich heritage for the future generations which should be prioritized more than having a single language everywhere.
