It is undoubtedly true that all parents play a vital role in teaching their children to be good members of society and that it is their responsibility to instill valuable habits and culture in them. On the contrary, there are some people who believe that it is the responsibility of the school to inculcate these habits in children. In my opinion, I firmly believe that parents hold more responsibility in the overall development of children.
On one hand, the relationship between children and teacher is unique and very sacred. The first ever interaction of children is with their parents, their first learning and development beings at home under the supervision of children. Parents are primary teachers and home is the first school for children. Children are gullible and safest in the custody of their parents. Children learn and imitate what they see at home and we trust that parents are always cautious in the presence of their children.
On the other hand, a group of people also argue that it is the school’s responsibility to teach and make children good members of society. To ensure a child’s holistic growth it is very important for them to have secure and scrutinized exposure. At school, it is sole responsibility of the teacher to teach good qualities like discipline, obedience, resilience, hard working and holding a positive perspective to their surroundings.
To sum up, I would conclude that both modes of teaching are equally important, however in my opinion, the teaching and learning done at home under the guidance of parents are the for the benefit of children.
