Discipline is An Ever-Increasing Problem in Modern Schools - Sample Answer 1
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. If you want to be successful, you need to maintain self-restraint. But the question is who will inculcate this caliber in the children. While some believe it is the exclusive responsibility of the teachers, others opine that only parents should be held accountable for it. In this essay, both these views will be considered and elucidated.
When a child is born, the things or people he/she knows are mainly coached by the parents. Whether it is as important as talking, walking or learning etiquette or minor ones like learning what to call others or basic sounds, the parents teach them. So, technically, parents are the first teachers as well as the main upholders of discipline in a child’s life. For example, parents teach their children to get up early in the morning, complete their homework, involve in physical activities, participate in chores and go to sleep at the right time. These fundamental steps stay with the child as good habits throughout their lives. Even as they grow up, parents maneuver their children to follow their conscience and do the right thing.
Parents can school their children at home. But what happens when they go out? That is where the role of the teacher comes into play. At school or higher institutions, the obligation of sustaining discipline lies with the teacher. He/she helps the student understand how to work in a team without fuss, follow the rules, help others in need and never give up. While the parents can be biased toward their children, the teacher handles different kinds of students and treats them equally. In a similar way, when the teacher finds it difficult to maintain discipline, parents can take the charge.
In conclusion, it can be said that the liability to preserve discipline among children is a combined responsibility of both parents and teachers. Where one cannot watch over, the other will find a way to direct the youngsters towards their goal.

Discipline is An Ever-Increasing Problem in Modern Schools - Sample Answer 2
In recent years, discipline has emerged as a significant problem in modern schools, and there is debate over whether teachers or parents should be primarily responsible for managing it. While both parties have important roles, I believe that teachers have a more immediate impact in shaping students’ behavior during school hours.
Supporters of teacher-led discipline argue that educators have the necessary training, authority, and experience to manage classrooms effectively. Teachers can implement rules, reward good behavior, and apply consistent consequences to address disruptive conduct. For instance, a teacher can intervene immediately if a student is bullying another, preventing further harm and setting a clear example for others.
Conversely, many believe that parents carry the ultimate responsibility because children often internalize values and behavior patterns learned at home. Teaching respect, honesty, and self-control from an early age helps students respond appropriately to authority figures at school. Without parental guidance, even the strictest school policies may fail to produce long-term behavioral improvements.
In conclusion, discipline is a shared responsibility, but teachers play a crucial role in enforcing rules and maintaining order during school hours. Cooperation between parents and teachers is essential to ensure that children develop both moral values and proper behavior, helping to address the growing problem of indiscipline.

Discipline is An Ever-Increasing Problem in Modern Schools - Sample Answer 3
Discipline in modern schools has become a pressing concern, and opinions differ on whether teachers or parents should be primarily responsible. While teachers manage behavior during school hours, I believe that parents have the greatest influence in shaping a child’s long-term conduct.
Advocates for teacher-led discipline point out that teachers interact with students daily and are in a strong position to enforce school rules. They can monitor behavior, intervene in conflicts, and apply consequences such as detention or additional assignments. In schools with strict behavioral policies, these measures often reduce disruptive incidents, demonstrating the importance of teacher involvement.
However, parents provide the foundation for a child’s sense of responsibility and respect. Values instilled at home are reinforced throughout life, and children whose parents actively guide their behavior are more likely to follow rules at school. Without parental involvement, classroom discipline may only address surface-level behavior rather than underlying attitudes.
In conclusion, both teachers and parents are essential in maintaining discipline, but I believe that parents should take the lead in shaping a child’s character. Teachers, meanwhile, act as enforcers and role models, ensuring that rules are followed during school hours. A collaborative effort is therefore vital to tackle the growing problem of indiscipline effectively.
