Sample Answer 1
Here is the sample for “describe a sport that you have learned” topic.
- what sport it is
I believe sports keep one healthy, ebullient and effervescent. Therefore, one should always play a sport or at least keep oneself physically active with a daily exercise regimen. Talking about the sport I am passionate about is baseball. Although it is not very prominent in our country as of now, I have always found a keen interest in this sport since childhood.
- when you learned it
Talking about the time when I first got to know about the sport was back then when I was a kid and with that, a frenetic animation series and anime viewer. Most of the time, the series used to have baseball as the only game that the characters used to play. I got my predilection towards the sport since then. The first step in my journey to the world of baseball was by finding a sports club and a seasoned trainer for baseball. I learnt it from Baseball Crook-up Academy in my city, where I learnt the fundamentals to lay an abutment.
- what you learned to do and explain how you feel about this sport.
When I entered the academy, the only thing I knew was the peculiar bat that is used in baseball and nothing else. Then, I realized the fun and verve associated with the game had me enthralled with it. As the journey progressed, I learnt lots of things, one of which was to hit the ball strong and far enough to score a home run. For this, not only did I learn to hit the ball at a right angle, but I also practised running faster. I won’t say I have become adroit in the sport; however, I am trained enough not to be called a novice to the game.
Sample Answer 2
- what sport it is
Basketball is a sport which I have been interested in for a long time. Therefore, I have taken up this sport recently. Basketball is played by two teams of five members on a rectangular court, where the players of each team try to shoot the ball through their opponent’s hoop.
- when you learned it
As far as I know, basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world. This is because of basketball’s great benefits to our health, such as muscular development, height growth, and so on. Of course, it’s also fast-moving and exciting. I decided to take up this sport considering these advantages. I have been learning it for three months at a sport center. Here, I am taking the beginner course which provides me with basic skills to play basketball such as dribbling, jumping and shooting. I also have many opportunities to practise these skills with experienced basketball players, which helps to improve my game a lot.
- what you learned to do and explain how you feel about this sport.
As a final point, I would emphasize that in the near future, I hope that I will be able to play basketball skillfully to improve my physical condition and really enjoy the sport to the fullest.
