Sample Answer 1
I started working with Apex Solutions shortly after graduation and that was when I got the taste of successfully tackling a particular event. My manager asked me to make a presentation on how we would tackle the client’s concerns and what alternative techniques we would use to fix them. I had to produce a PowerPoint presentation on it and provide a quick explanation in front of the rest of the staff and the client.
I was assigned a week to prepare this presentation. It was challenging for me since I wanted to convey it so that everyone could understand how the solution would benefit the customer and why he should continue engaging with us. Coincidentally, my mother became ill the next day after I was assigned this presentation. I had to look after her since she had become weak and no one else was available to help. As a result, I took her to the doctor, where I learned that she had contracted bronchitis and would require hospitalization.
I took time off from work for three days to look after her. I was so scared that I had three days to prepare my presentation, and I had no idea what I needed to accomplish. For me, it has become a stressful scenario. I calmed myself and began developing a strategy in a relaxed manner for what I needed to say on this subject. Following thorough planning, I searched for the items I needed and gathered all of the information, which I then presented in a PowerPoint presentation. I effectively prepared it within three days with complete dedication and intelligence.
During the presentation, not only did the clients like my way of presenting the data with such detailed information, but my seniors praised me for my hard work and determination. I was thrilled to learn to manage myself in such a difficult situation. It taught me how to maintain control in any stressful scenario.
Sample Answer 2
Here, I’d like to talk about a specific event in which I was successful. Post my under graduation, I decided to pursue my MBA from a foreign university. I had applied for various universities in many different countries, and my hard work finally paid off when I was selected to study at the University of Victoria, Canada, along with a full scholarship. But the university required an IELTS band score of 7 for admissions to the MBA programme. Eventually, I had to prepare for the IELTS exam. It was immediately after my graduation, and I was very tense because I had no prior knowledge about the IELTS. So, I ran from pillar to post, searching for genuine IELTS coaching classes. Finally, after a few days of my research, I enrolled in a preparation course offered at a coaching center, and within a month, the course helped me improve my weaknesses and skills. With constant preparation and patience, I effectively learned, prepared, and achieved my target scores of IELTS band 7.5.
This was one of the events where I managed to achieve success. It was indeed a dream come true and a triumphant moment in my life. Everyone in my family was super proud as I was the first to pursue an MBA from a prominent foreign university.
