Shopping Has Become A Favourite Pastime Among Young People - Sample Answer 1
Shopping has become an essential element of a young person’s life in today’s culture. Peer pressure, social media and emerging fashion trends are the main reasons for constant shopping. Although I believe that shopping is vital, I also believe that young people should engage in other activities in order to upskill themselves in the real world.
To commence with, there are innumerable reasons for escalated pastime shopping. The most prominent reason is the new age advertisements and the digital advertisements of the fashion industry in the social media that reach millions of youngsters and lure them to go on a shopping spree or buy products they don’t need in the first place. Also, many shopping outlets strive to grab people’s eyeballs by offering lucrative deals and discounts along with other services. Further, the youth get influenced by their peers who randomly visit the mall for window shopping almost every week for no reason. Consequently, they develop shopping as a hobby and invest their leisure hours in the shopping avenues.
On the other hand, the youngsters should be encouraged to do more productive activities and invest their leisure hours wisely. Young people should understand the importance of time, which is measured by hours. Therefore, they should start practising any fruitful activities such as painting, hiking, sculpture making, gardening, learning new languages, reading, cooking, writing, and sewing, to name a few that will enhance their proficiency and productivity level. Besides these activities, youngsters can also start volunteering for NGOs to develop their leadership skills, organizational skills, time management, etc. This would definitely assist them in becoming responsible citizens.
To conclude, it’s certainly true that youngsters are addicted to shopping, but they can rectify it and spend their leisure hours sensibly by doing some activities and tasks that might be advantageous for them in the long run. Because with proper utilisation of time, an individual can earn money and become successful.

Shopping Has Become A Favourite Pastime Among Young People - Sample Answer 2
Shopping has increasingly become a popular activity among young people, and there are several reasons for this trend. One major factor is the influence of social media and advertising. Young people are constantly exposed to images of fashionable clothing, the latest gadgets, and trendy products, which creates a desire to own them. Additionally, shopping offers a form of entertainment and socialization. Many young people enjoy going to malls or markets with friends, making it a way to relax and spend quality time together.
However, I believe that while shopping can be enjoyable, young people should be encouraged to participate in other activities as well. Engaging in hobbies such as sports, reading, or volunteering helps develop skills, build character, and promote physical and mental well-being. Overindulgence in shopping can lead to financial strain and may also foster materialistic attitudes. Therefore, schools and families should guide young people toward a balanced lifestyle that includes both leisure activities and personal growth.
In conclusion, the popularity of shopping among youth is driven by social influence and entertainment value, but it is important to promote other constructive activities to ensure their overall development.

Shopping Has Become A Favourite Pastime Among Young People - Sample Answer 3
It is undeniable that shopping has become one of the favourite pastimes of many young people. One reason is the thrill of purchasing new items, which gives them a sense of satisfaction and achievement. Moreover, the rise of online shopping has made it easier for young people to access a wide range of products without leaving their homes. Peer pressure also plays a role, as youngsters often want to keep up with the latest trends to fit in with their friends.
Despite these reasons, I strongly believe that young people should be encouraged to engage in alternative activities. Participating in sports, creative arts, or community service not only broadens their horizons but also helps them acquire valuable life skills. Excessive shopping may encourage materialism and distract young people from more meaningful pursuits. Hence, a balanced approach, where shopping is enjoyed occasionally but other activities are prioritized, is essential for healthy development.
In summary, shopping is popular among youth due to convenience, peer influence, and entertainment, but it is crucial to motivate them toward more productive and skill-enhancing activities.
