Some people say that animals can be used in any way for the benefit of humans. Others say that exploiting animals for human purposes is not acceptable. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Sentences 1&2 -All living creatures deserve the right to exist harmoniously in their habitats. However, some people are of the opinion that animals can be utilised to serve the needs of human beings, while others disagree.

Body Paragraphs

Paragraph 1 – The disregard for the value of animal lives shown throughout history is damaging because it devalues the existence of animals, disrupts the balance of the ecosystem and leads to extinction of species.

Paragraph 2- Some people believe that animals were created to benefit humans and cite the notion of survival of the fittest to justify human actions exploiting animals.

Conclusion

To sum up, I would like to say that animals and human beings should be able to peacefully coexist without the latter abusing the former for their own gains and they should be prevented from doing so.

All living creatures deserve the right to exist harmoniously in their habitats. However, some people are of the opinion that animals can be utilised to serve the needs of human beings, while others disagree. I also disagree with the notion that animals can be manipulated to gratify human wants.

Firstly, history has long documented people capitalising on the resources of animals in order to derive the greatest extent of profit possible. From being consumed to being experimented on in drug and cosmetics tests, animals have been mercilessly taken advantage of by people. As living organisms, animals also deserve to live and their existence should not be taken for granted or misused for the gratification of human wants. Poaching of animals in the wild has also disrupted the natural balance of the ecosystem and caused the extinction of certain species over time through their exploitation. Thus, people taking advantage of animals for their own needs must be ceased.

However, contrastingly, others argue that animals were created to meet the demands of humans and ameliorate their lives. Hence, it is necessary for them to use them to satisfy their own needs. Others also bring up the notion of the survival of the fittest, pointing out that even within the animal kingdom, the stronger creatures overpower or exterminate the weaker to subsist.

To sum up, I would like to say that animals and human beings should be able to peacefully coexist without the latter abusing the former for their own gains and they should be prevented from doing so.
