Sample Essay
Studying abroad prepares a student to get ready for the real world and thus plays a significant role in someone’s life. It can be precarious to decide whether to complete it in the home country or a more prestigious university in a foreign country. I believe that the overall picture of moving to a different country to complete higher education brings more advantages than drawbacks.
Studying abroad pioneer new horizons for students and develops a sagacious understanding of diverse cultures. Foreign universities have intricated and advanced teaching materials and methods, making learning easier for students. Furthermore, students are exposed to sundry cultures. As a result, one can discover different lifestyles and social norms, broadening their perspective.
Additionally, students can learn a second language quickly with the proper cultural context and accent. Besides, it makes the student very skilful by which they are benefited in the job market. For instance, a person takes decisions without anyone’s help, which helps to gain self-confidence, and communication skills improve while dealing daily with a variety of people.
Nonetheless, despite the advantages mentioned above, there are some serious disadvantages to studying abroad. One of the significant problems is that students who study abroad do not contribute much to their own country’s economy. To elaborate, the migration of skilled people to other countries has impeded the development of countries like India. People who should have been entrepreneurs in their own country have successful businesses and pay taxes in other countries. Another drawback of studying abroad is that students have to pay higher fees. They often have to work part-time to provide funds for their studies. Another potential issue is that living away from families in a highly competitive environment leads to a stressful life.
To conclude, it is evident from the above arguments that the advantages of studying in different international universities outweigh the disadvantages. I, therefore, believe that students should travel to foreign universities for better education and a rich experience of the world.
