Describe a Place Where You Go to Relax Sample Answer 1
One of my favorite places to relax is a small park near my house. It’s located just a 10-minute walk from where I live, making it incredibly convenient to visit whenever I need a break. The park is surrounded by tall trees, has a beautiful fountain in the center, and is always filled with the sound of birds chirping, which creates a very peaceful atmosphere.
I usually go there in the evenings after work or on weekends when I want to unwind. It’s the perfect time because the weather is cooler, and the setting sun casts a golden glow over the park, making it even more serene. Sometimes, I also visit in the early morning to enjoy the fresh air and quiet before the day gets busy.
When I’m there, I like to sit on a bench and read a book, listen to calming music, or simply watch people walking their dogs or children playing. Occasionally, I take a stroll around the park to clear my mind and get some light exercise. It’s a great way to disconnect from the stress of daily life and recharge.
Most of the time, I go there alone because it gives me a chance to reflect and enjoy some solitude. However, sometimes I bring my close friends or family along, especially on weekends. We sit together, chat, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, which strengthens our bond.
I choose this place to relax because it’s easily accessible, quiet, and close to nature. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s rare to find such a tranquil spot where I can escape the noise and chaos of the city. The park helps me feel refreshed and rejuvenated, both mentally and physically, which is why it’s my go-to place for relaxation.

Describe a Place Where You Go to Relax Sample Answer 2
- where this place is
Undoubtedly, everybody these days lives a chaotic life filled with a lot of commotion. It isn’t easy to find moments of relaxation when you are busy. So, whenever I need me-time I visit a nearby café – The SunShine Café.
- when you go there
The café is 5km away from my house. Considering the short distance, I visit this place almost every weekend. While I spend only a few hours in this place on Saturdays, Sundays are usually spent entirely here.
- what you do there
- who is usually there with you
There are times my friends tag along. Other times, I prefer visiting by myself. One of the reasons why I go alone is that I get to spend time with myself. Once there, I take up my favourite corner, close to the bookshelf where I run the horses of my mind through the last week I spent, figuring out what I did correctly and where exactly I went wrong. Also, the place is immensely peaceful; hence, I calm my mind down and plan the upcoming week and the month.
- and explain why you choose to go to this place to relax.
The café is fascinating and picturesque. Their menu is lip-smacking as well. Apart from this, they have designed the interiors in a mesmerizing manner. There is also a mini-library tucked inside a small room featuring various classic and modernized novels. I spend hours reading, sipping my coffee and devouring my favorite red velvet cake. There is nothing more blissful than weekends spent here.

- where this place is
Today, I’m going to share with you a place where I often go to relax/read and hang out with my friends, which is a small café/restaurant near my company/my house named “ABC”.
- when you go there
- what you do there
As a full-time employee/student, I have to go to work/school five days a week; therefore, the only time that I can visit this place is on weekends. I always try to make time for my little trip to “ABC” café every Saturday or Sunday. The coffee house is located on a quiet street with a lot of trees planted on both sides. Additionally, it has a patio with hanging gardens which I like very much; it makes me feel like I’m sitting in a garden of my own.
Far from the hustle and bustle of the city life in Hanoi, this place allows me to sit quietly and reflect, relaxing after a week of hard work. I can concentrate on a personal project such as reading or writing in my journal without being interrupted by other people. It serves excellent coffee, tea, and cakes. Thus, the place always smells very nice. The employees are also friendly and helpful.
- who is usually there with you
- and explain why you choose to go to this place to relax.
Sometimes, I go there with my friends. Over a nice cup of coffee/tea, we share our stories and smell the beautiful scent of the flowers. At that moment, we can escape from reality for a little while and enjoy ourselves even more.
