Describe a Time When You Heard Some Good News - Sample Answer 1
From personal experience, I have learnt that life is not a bed of roses and every adversity is followed by some very good time that creates an impact on us. One such fond memory when a piece of pleasant news changed my life was when I got the appointment letter for my first job.
After I completed college, our family faced a challenging time financially as a trusted person whom my father had borrowed some saved money had abscond with it. As my father is a self-made businessman, capital is crucial for him. Therefore, when he lost that amount of money, he went into a shock that resulted in a heart attack. Although my father did not want me to take an office job, unknown to him, I gave some interviews for the experience. In that dire situation, my mother had to sell some of her jewellery to pay for the hospital bills. But, when God closes a door, He opens one. So, when we took my father home, I got the good news of my first job.
Apart from my parents, I shared the good news with one of my cousins and a few close friends who had always been by my side and motivated me even in tough times. They congratulated me and talked me into accepting the offer, although my father had some doubts.
When we see a silver lining among the dark clouds, it means a lot to us. This job was a ray of sunshine for me as it made me financially independent, gave the scope to prove my worth to my father, and so gave me the strength to eradicate our times of struggle. Furthermore, with the first six months’ salary, I bought new jewelry for my mother. It felt surreal to become the support and pride of my parents, all thanks to this job.

Describe a Time When You Heard Some Good News - Sample Answer 2
Any news can turn your life upside down. As I am with positive vibes today, I cannot help but recall that wonderful time when I became an aunt. My sister was blessed with a baby girl. It’s been one year since then, but I still consider her as my lucky charm. It was the happiest news I have heard back then. I have sent an article on “Waste Management” as a research paper to the foreign organization IISR, hoping to get it approved and published.
The news of the approval came just after she was born. It was the happiest hour. I held my niece in my arms; she felt so tiny and pure. I can’t begin to explain how beautiful the feeling was to hold a baby who had just come into the world.
Everyone present at the hospital was pleased with my success, along with the birth of the little bundle of joy.
I was sluggish and reluctant when it came to my work earlier, but that project was my first work where I had made an effort sincerely. My niece came on the same day as if she was an angel God had sent as the bearer of the good news. I couldn’t be happier. That project has helped me update my CV and even motivated me to apply for IELTS.

This news had a strong effect on me because it boosted my confidence and motivated me to pursue my future plans. It also made me realize that consistent effort and determination can truly lead to success.
