Sample Answer 1
We all have made reservations and appointments at some time in our lives. Most of the time, we make appointments for medical checkups. There have been many instances where I have booked an appointment at a doctor’s clinic. However, unforeseen circumstances can lead to a situation where a reservation may be preponed or postponed. I had to face a similar situation, where an appointment was rescheduled to an earlier time when I had to go for a dental checkup.
It happened in March 2021 when a wisdom tooth was coming out on one side of my mouth. I was experiencing agonizing pain and could not bear the anguish. Subsequently, my parents made an appointment for me at the dental clinic located a few minutes from our home.
After two days of making the dental appointment, my father received a call from the dental clinic. The clinic manager had called to inform us that the appointment had to be rescheduled because the clinic would be closed on the day of my scheduled checkup. We had the option of moving the checkup to an earlier date or postponing the appointment altogether.
This news came as a relief since I was already in excruciating pain and readily agreed to go to the dentist as soon as possible. The appointment was rescheduled to the next day as that was the only time slot available. Although certain issues arose due to the appointment being moved to an earlier date, I felt extremely lucky at this occurrence and went to the dentist on the rescheduled date and had my wisdom teeth taken out.

Here, I’d like to talk about a time when my appointment with the doctor was put ahead of schedule. Two years ago, I was suffering from an extreme toothache, so I visited the dentist. It was not an easy task to get an appointment with the dentist, Dr Jack, as he was one of the top dentists in the city. Many prominent people, including several industry professionals and celebrities, were his patients. So, making an appointment was a highly complex task. Despite my packed schedule in the office, I took some time off and consulted the dentist. After analysing my tooth infection, he suggested that I opt for a root canal treatment, and he scheduled the treatment at 2 pm after two days on Thursday. Thus, I informed my higher authorities at the office about my Doctor’s appointment in advance to avoid last-minute confusion, and I even cancelled the meetings with my junior associates. Lately, on Wednesday evening, I received a call from the dentist’s assistant who said that my root canal treatment was preponed to 10 am on Thursday instead of 2 pm. When I questioned the reason for rescheduling, the assistant told me that the dentist had to schedule an emergency surgery at 2 pm for a VIP patient on the same day. Initially, I felt disappointed as I had to inform my office authorities about the new appointment again and reschedule my work assignments. However, I felt relieved that my appointment was not cancelled.
