Sample Answer 1
There is a saying, “Patience is a virtue”. Throughout my life, I’ve been impatient with all the life decisions that I take, which ultimately leads to failures. It is from experience you learn new things. I learned it recently when I mastered driving.
Even though I have a driving license, I was afraid to drive. I used to think I was a bad driver. I was impatient at the time after getting my driving license to overtake a vehicle in front of me, because of which I had to hear a lot of scoldings from my vehicle instructor. It somewhat demotivated me and I decided not to drive at all. But my family really encouraged me to give it a try and said that when a critical situation arises, I will feel the importance of it. So I tried taking our car out. After some days of practice and with slight accidents, I was able to crack it.
Now, I understand that if we are patient on the road and we drive properly, obeying the traffic rules, there is a place for us on the road too. On the other hand, carefree driving will only lead you to fall into big losses or troubles.
Sample Answer 2
Since childhood, I have always been inquisitive and interested in various outdoor activities that allowed me to enlarge my horizon. But, one thing I have never shown interest in is cooking. Although I am a gastronomist, I have entered the kitchen growing up. Despite all this, I was forced to learn this art during the pandemic out of dire need.
In reality, I cannot state that I hate cooking. The reason I never did it was that my mother never allowed me to, as she thought I rather focus on my studies and job than intrude in her space. But when I moved to Mumbai, I was forced to learn a few basic skills like making tea, boiling items like eggs, potatoes, and daal so that I won’t die of hunger when the restaurant delivery boy failed to show up. Therefore, during the lockdown, when all restaurants were closed and I became bored of eating boiled food, I decided to master this art. My best friend suggested I look up videos on Youtube and try out recipes. With the sudden craze about Dalgona coffee and certain delicacies like pizza, jalebi, momos, my interest in cooking grew as I experimented with various recipes from the cooking sites on the internet.
At present, though I cannot claim to be a Masterchef, I can prepare dishes like Mac and Cheese, Butter chicken, Vegetable Kolhapuri, Biryani, to name a few. My mother has become more proud of me as she can boast to her friends that her daughter has grown up, handling both her job and her household. I feel that irrespective of gender, all of us should learn basic survival skills like cooking, cleaning, and similar activities because we never know when they will come in handy.
Now, when I am stressed about my office work or feel lonely, I find some time, look up an unknown recipe from the internet and try it out. Of course, I may fail sometimes, but honestly speaking, the whole process calms me down and I can focus on the task at hand with some delectable food on my table. So, learning how to cook has changed my opinion that one can find peace even in the most elementary activities, and every day, we have a chance to learn something new if we want to learn and pay attention.
