Describe Something you Have Done that is Good for Your Health - IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 1
One of the recent healthy habits that I’ve started doing and would strongly recommend to the people I love is going on a morning jog.
I usually tend to go jogging in a small park near my home. I started doing this about two years ago when I realized I was spending too much time sitting and using my phone. At the beginning, it was quite difficult since I wasn’t used to waking up early, but as time went by it became part of my daily routine.
I normally go jogging at around 5:30 in the morning, right before I start my day. I find that exercising in the mornings helps me feel more energetic and focused. I do it about three to four times a week, depending on my day’s schedule. Each session lasts around 40 to 50 minutes. At times, I listen to songs or podcasts while running, which makes that experience even more enjoyable.
This particular activity has had a really positive impact on my health. Physically, I feel much stronger and I have really improved my stamina. Mentally, it helps reduce stress and also clears my mind. Whenever I feel anxious or overwhelmed, a short jog really helps me have a good reset.
Overall, I would definitely stand by morning jogging and suggest it to others because it doesn’t require any special equipment, it’s absolutely free, and it benefits both the physical and mental health of a person. Even starting with just a short walk or a light jog can make a big difference over time.
Describe Something You Have Done that is Good for Your Health - IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 2
Everyone wants to be healthy and fit, but not everyone succeeds. Being active is exceedingly difficult in today’s fast-paced environment because everyone is so overburdened with work and stress that they barely have time for themselves. Here, I’d want to talk about a health-related activity that I undertook and would recommend to others.
A healthy habit is very hard to develop, but a change in mindset can help maintain a healthy lifestyle. I tried everything from regular exercise to yoga to reduce stress, but I discovered that meditation was the most effective way. As a result, I’ve been practicing meditation for a few months now, and it’s been quite beneficial in reducing my daily stress. In addition, meditation has greatly assisted me in developing my mental creativity, improving my attentiveness, and enhancing positive thinking.
Every evening after I come home from work, I make sure to practice meditation. Meditation has assisted me in releasing the tension that builds up in my body and mind throughout the day at work. As a result, when I meditate after work, it provides a useful and distinct barrier between my active work and personal life. I also make it a point to practice yoga and do some simple workouts to keep myself physically fit.
Apart from improving my concentration and ability to stay calm and composed under pressure, It has also helped me discover and cultivate my inner strength, resilience, and focus. Meditation has not only helped me keep a sound mind but also a sound body. Therefore, I would strongly advise everyone living with a stressful life to practice meditation since it provides a clear and tranquil state of mind that reduces acute stress and improves long-term health.
