Sample Answer 1
The ability to teach a particular topic or concept to someone is a satisfying experience. At the same time, it is always a good idea to help someone who needs assistance. I have always tried to help my classmates with their classwork whenever they needed help and I followed the same practice during my college life. An instance that I would like to talk about is when I had to teach my friends during my final year of college. It was the second to last semester of my college, and we had a subject named Database Management. This subject was demanding to say the least, and many of my classmates were facing issues with the same. However, I understood the concepts of Database Management and taught them to some of my friends and classmates.
Although our professors taught the subject of Database Management thoroughly during our computer science class, many students failed to grasp the concepts successfully. One of the reasons behind this was the use of technical terms and jargon by our professors. Nevertheless, when I took the initiative to explain some of the concepts to my friends, I made sure that they understood the terminology and the idea of the subject matter. The two chapters that I taught my friends were the difference between hierarchical and network database systems and the division of layers within a database management system.
There were many students not only from our section but from our entire batch who needed assistance with different chapters of Database Management, and I was only able to teach three of my close friends who lived near my home. Shyla, Ishaan and Nischal visited my house twice a week for two weeks to study and discuss the chapters they were having issues with, and I was able to clear most of their doubts.
All three of my friends were able to understand the concepts I was teaching them, and by the end of our last group study sessions, they were able to answer most of the questions from the mock tests we were solving. They were able to pass the subject in our final exams for that semester, and they treated me to a hearty meal at our favourite restaurant.
Sample Answer 2
I believe that everybody enters my life to teach me a lesson. Once their part is over, they gradually make their way out. I am a person who loves nurturing humanity and relations. I love investing my time in helping others and assisting as much as I can. By doing so, I relish a strange tranquility that is difficult to be achieved by different modes. So, to tell you one such situation when I taught something to someone, I will go back to my school days.
In the science class, we were given a presentation to make on plant reproduction. I was quite thrilled because the topic was my favourite and I loved doing technical stuff on my computer. While everybody was discussing how to move ahead with it, there was a boy – named Sudeep – sitting at a corner in the last bench. I could not comprehend the reason behind him being so quiet. So, I walked to him and asked about what was troubling him.

He hesitated a bit initially. Later, he told me that he does not come from a financially strong background. As a result, neither did he have a computer at home nor knew how to make a presentation. Also, he did not want to disclose this information as he was petrified that other classmates would make fun of him.
I understood what he might be going through. So, in a jiffy, I invited him to my house. Not only did I let him operate my computer, but I also taught him how to make a presentation. I must say he was a quick learner. He created a captivating presentation that bagged him the first prize.
