Sample Answer:

Dear Ms Dutt

I am writing this letter requesting to allow time off so that I can take a holiday trip with my family.

I’m requesting you to grant me this holiday, as this year, my extended family have planned a family reunion in our ancestral home. There will be extended family members who I’ve not seen for more than 3 years, and this is an opportunity that may not come too often.

Since the reunion get-together is planned for July 2nd. I am formally requesting time off from work from Thursday, June 30th, until Friday, July 8th. Thus, I will be available to work until June 29th and then will hence rejoin work back on July 11th.

To ensure the work continues as it is even during my absence, I’ll be allotting the work to my team in advance so the team’s progress as a whole does not slow down.

I look forward to receiving your reply
