Technology has made astonishing progress. Internet search engines answer almost every question in our mind. Connectivity is possible from every nook and corner of the world. There is quite a lot of information available on the internet on practically every subject on earth. Some people argue that this is dangerous. I understand their concern but don’t agree with it. It is a problem which can be solved. In the following paragraphs, I shall put forth the arguments in favour of my opinion.

Gone are the days when we were searching for a book in the library to find out that important information about ancient Romans. The internet has made our lives easier. We have everything at the click of a button. Technology has facilitated research activities and thereby helped in the scientific progress of many nations. Earlier, government officials had to keep their ledgers safe because they contained confidential information. With the advent of technology, all the data is stored on the computer and can be retrieved easily. It is easy for the police officials to trace the criminals and to maintain their records. Almost all banks have gone online, and e-shopping has eased the tensions of many office-goers.

Technology has not only given too much information but also made it possible to regulate it. There is a separate entity operating to monitor and control online crime. It is easy for an investigation officer to find out from which email id, a fraudulent transaction has been done. It is possible to trace a convict through devices like mobile phones. There are many instances where information about terrorists has been identified, and their attacks prevented by using technology. Every action on the internet can be monitored. Infact, technology helps in controlling anti-social activities.

Although some people argue that information on the internet can be mishandled, we can rely on regulatory bodies and do not have to deprive ourselves of our right to access information.

In summary, modern technology has gifted us with information at our fingertips. It has also enabled policing on the internet. So we can enjoy the facilities without any scepticism.

The hallmark of the 21st century is the evolution of technology to an extent that is unimaginable. The technical prowess that humanity has achieved has made endeavours possible that once belonged in the realms of science fiction. Today, the transaction of information has become so effortless that any internet-enabled device can be termed as an information hub. However, this phenomenon can be daunting and some might consider these advancements too rapid for our own good. In my opinion, innovation in this domain has only facilitated progress. In the following paragraphs, I will elaborate on my views with relevant examples and justify the same.

First and foremost, the degree of convenience that we enjoy thanks to technology while performing routine tasks has to be acknowledged. The advent of search engines like Google has increased accessibility to nearly all sorts of information to an astounding degree. For instance, if an individual is searching for data on a particular topic, place or person, regardless of how obscure the subject is, Google can present the user with more than a billion results in a matter of milliseconds.

Furthermore, with the hi-tech faculties available to us, the distance between families, friends and peers has become immaterial. Presently, communication has been made so user-friendly, that a face-to-face conversation is possible between two people without them even being in the same room. Thus, collaborations and joint ventures are more feasible these days as a physical presence has now been replaced by a virtual one.

Nonetheless, there are shortcomings that we have faced due to these developments which have to be addressed. The prevalence of issues like the invasion of privacy, illegal distribution of sensitive material and cyber-bullying have risen dramatically. That being said, such problems can be tackled by implementing stringent laws to curb the misuse of technical facilities.

To sum up, the growth of innovative technology has aided humankind to reach the pinnacle of civilisation. All things considered, the potential for progress can be immense if such facilities are used responsibly.
