Sample Essay 1
Sport shows these days are appealing to young people. Many people believe that young people are unhealthy since they only watch these programs without proactively involving themselves in such games. I am not in agreement with the above statement as such programs educate kids about the basics of the game and encourage them to play.
Keeping up with sports channels on an ongoing basis helps us stay updated about various games and sports played worldwide. Watching sports and games on TV may also induce young people to engage in them. Sporting events that are emphasized in these channels offer people information about the rules of the sport. Sports events are usually held both nationally and internationally, and anybody wondering about the basics of sports can get an insight into how the game is played by watching live games.
Sports channels are not the cause of youth inactivity since they instil enthusiasm through physical activity, so watching sports channels cannot be blamed for their poor health. Many people are deeply enamoured with some sports activities when they watch them regularly. They are interested in learning more about their favourite players and their daily routine. Youngsters these days tend to mimic the gaming strategies and fitness regimen of their admired sports figures. This will ensure that they remain physically fit and in shape
However, some people might feel that people who watch sports shows all day are lazy and suffer from health problems as a result. But the poor health of the younger generation can also be linked to several other factors, such as lack of a balanced diet.
Therefore, I disagree with the idea that watching sports on television affects the health of youngsters since it makes them more inclined to participate in physical activities by encouraging their interest in the games and teaching them the rules of sports.
Sample Essay 2
Truly, sports have become one of the biggest entertainment sources these days. A lot of people have a belief that such sports exhibit negative results on young people, as they prefer sitting in front of the television and get engrossed in these games rather than taking part in them or exercising in their free time. Personally, I agree with the statement. I shall discuss my opinion in the forthcoming paragraphs.
In recent years, it is quite a fact that the number of sports channels has shot up. You can see live competitions and appealing sports on an array of channels, such as Fox Sports, Star Sports, Ten Sports, ESPN, and more. Consequently, a lot of youngsters watch these sports for hours altogether. Things start taking a worse turn when they also consume unhealthy, junk food, such as soda, candies, popcorn, and more while watching these shows. Hence, such kind of behaviour has become a leading cause of deteriorating health conditions amongst youngsters.
Moreover, the primary motive of sports on television was to promote sports, inform people and instill a feeling of vigour and enthusiasm among people, specifically youngsters so that they could take part in such sports and become active. However, with parents failing to teach their children the concept of a healthy lifestyle, neglecting over-watching of televisions, playing games, and excess use of technological devices for hours altogether has allowed them to lead a mundane, inactive life.
While there are some youngsters who do understand the ill-effects of watching television for hours, however, there are others who don’t pay much attention to it. Thus, sports channels could be leading to bad health.
Concluding the opinion, I agree that sports programmes on the TV leave some negative impacts on health conditions and that they should be rectified.
Band 9 Sample Essay
Sports events and shows are some of the most viewed presentations on television worldwide. The average viewership surges when a major cricket or a football match is live and the number of viewers remains fairly constant until the end of the broadcast. It is believed by many that the frequency of sports telecasts is a catalyst for the appalling health conditions of the youth as they drive them away from engaging in physical activities. I disagree with this notion completely. In this essay, I will elaborate on the topic and justify my views on the same.
The prevalence of sports in the realms of television production has several reasons. One of the primary grounds for sports events being a top priority for various channels is the potential revenue that can be generated during such programmes due to the presence of a massive audience. Moreover, the popularity of sports is more widespread among the youth more than any other age group. It is an observable fact that youngsters are not only inclined towards actual events but are also attentive towards any major news and announcements from the world of sports.
Furthermore, we also need to address the fact that a majority of young individuals watch sports events with their friends or family. The deed of viewing a game between the two popular sports teams and experiencing a plethora of emotions for the entire duration is a widely favoured activity among the younger generation. Additionally, such events bring about a sense of nostalgia and often lead to many individuals getting involved in outdoor games with their friends.
Nevertheless, it is understandable that merely observing sports and avoiding physical work can lead to health complications over time. However, such occurrences are not the outcome of sports events but are the consequences of a lethargic lifestyle.
In conclusion, the widespread admiration of sports is legitimate as such events are a medium that brings us closer as human beings and enables us to enjoy passionate moments collectively.
