Describe an Important Decision you Have Made IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 1
I think decision-making is an integral part of our life, and we constantly make big or small decisions. If we do not make decisions, life will become dull, and we will not be able to move forward. So, I want to discuss an important decision I made with my sister’s help.
I have lately completed my schooling/graduation, and it was just time for me to settle on what I wanted to achieve in my life. I was muddled about what course should I opt for in my further studies as I did not want to opt for mainstream courses like engineering or medicine. I wanted an option that would provide me with a bright future and, at the same time, should be interesting. I explored a lot on the internet about alternative courses and colleges, but I got more perplexed as there was too much information. So, I decided to consult my elder sister, who lives in Canada and works in the Media and entertainment industry.
When I asked her for advice, she suggested I pursue a course in Animation as she knew about my interests in this field. She also suggested some good colleges in Canada for this course and explained the job opportunities I would get after completing this course. Her advice assisted me in taking a life-changing decision. After that, I became confident and was content with the way things eventually turned out.

Describe an Important Decision you Have Made IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer 3
Last year I was working in an international company and doing quite well, so I was offered a big promotion to become a manager. But I had also been looking for opportunities to study abroad, and received an offer from a prestigious university around the same time I got the job offer. It was a scholarship that would cover all expenses, including tuition and accommodation, an enviable package.
I was in a dilemma, not knowing whether to stay and further my career or to go and further my education. So I decided to ask my friend, Hugo, for his advice, because he once faced a very similar choice.
He was like, If you want to go far in this field, you have to possess excellent qualifications, because if you don’t there’s a limit to how far up you can reach, this promotion may look good now, but as far as I see there’s little room left for development. I took his advice and am now studying in America.
