Sample Essay
Some people reckon that a few jobs are unreasonably overpaid or not paid fairly, and people who have these jobs, who are mostly celebrities, should not earn such amounts of money. Most individuals contemplate their life as glittering with flamboyance and hence, condemn the vast payments, while few debate it as a justice for several reasons. Many believe this remittance is too high, while others believe celebrities deserve that money.
Apart from the aforementioned idea, a section of people supports actors because they acknowledge that creativity involves high risk and guarantees no fixed employment period. In reality, there is risk in each profession. No profession is risk-free. For instance, an engineer can be fired from his company if he doesn’t do well. So, there is no justification for paying actors more as their profession is risky. Also, even if it is agreed upon to pay more, the difference shouldn’t be this huge. It should be made reasonable. This is an injustice to an ordinary man who gives his life to studies/academics and ends up earning a meagre amount of money compared to school-drop out actors who manage to make crores.
Moreover, ceratin occupations deserve much more monetary credits than they currently get. People who gamble their lives in their job, like army officials or police officers, ought to be paid well and appreciated for their contribution to the nation. Additionally, to become professionals like doctors, engineers, and teachers, one requires high skills that can take years to polish. Thus, it becomes essential to pay them well.
There is also a flip side to this. We can never forget when a star is thrashed by a website or a tabloid newspaper for something highly infinitesimal. Sometimes, they are unfairly made to engage in uncountable disproportionate fights with their hands tied down to their back and mouths thickly plastered. Thus, their careers of a limited period of time and dedication can be rationalised only if they are rewarded in higher proportions. Despite this, it does not justify why superstars are paid more than those who work day and night to better the country.
In the end, I would like to say that all the above points fortify my opinion that celebrities are overpaid since their job is only to entertain, which is not the only basic need of people. There are other professions too with lots of responsibilities and risks which should be highly paid and are essential for humanity.
