Introduction

Sentence 1: Everyone has a right to maintain the privacy of their personal and professional life. Celebrities are well-known people whose work and personal lives are constantly scrutinized by the media.

Sentence 3: Others argue that celebrities should accept it as a part of their luxurious lifestyle. However, I agree with the former view, as everyone, irrespective of a superstar or an ordinary person, has a right to privacy, and media intrusion into that privacy is unacceptable.

In the contemporary world, everyone has a right to maintain the privacy of their personal and professional life according to their own will. However, celebrities and actors are an exception to privacy. Some celebrities oppose the intervention of the media in their personal lives, while others state that they should welcome it as a part of their fame. However, I agree with the former view, which will be illustrated in the subsequent paragraphs.

To begin with, glamorous and flashy celebrities are always in the limelight, making news headlines for their professional and personal lifestyle. The media does so to gain more notoriety and ratings for their respective companies. They often invade their privacy by highlighting their intimate matters in front of the fans, which is considered a disgraceful act. Due to this exposure, the security of these hotshots are jeopardized and they become vulnerable to threats and blackmails.

Moreover, few celebrities feel distressed when the media intrudes on their privacy. This happens because they, too, have an emotional corner and the right to keep their secrets private. They have the freedom to choose what to post and what not to post on social media, even if they provide the newest information about their lifestyle, upcoming movies, and so on. Sometimes, overexposure by the media or social media leads to aggressive competition, unwanted criticism and cause a mental breakdown.

Nonetheless, some people are of the opinion that when someone becomes a celebrity, they volunteer to be subjected to constant media criticism and public scrutiny, which is also a part of their fame. Some bigwigs consciously create controversies or pick up unnecessary fights with others for instant fame and financial gain. Yet, it is important to protect even the celebrity’s privacy in every way possible as they too are human and have the authority to live their life secretly.

To conclude, I believe that the media should respect and understand that everyone, including celebrities, is entitled to privacy and personal space. They, too, have the independence of keeping their secrets to themselves. Therefore, the media should refrain from prying into celebrities’ personal lives.
