I am Abdullah, your new neighbour. I am reaching out because there is something that has been disturbing us lately. Your dog is causing a bit of noise, especially at night. Since he barks a lot, it is making it hard for us to sleep properly. Also, when my kids go outside, he barks at them, which makes them scared to play in our yard.

I was thinking, maybe you could consider moving your dog to your backyard at night. It might help reduce the noise. Also, it would be great if you could train your dog not to bark so much, especially around my children since I am mainly worried about them.

I hope you’re doing well. I’m writing to talk about something that’s been bothering me lately. You know, as your next-door neighbor I have noticed that your small dog barks a lot, all day and night. It is actually making it hard for me to concentrate during the day and sleep at night and it is tough because I work from home and need some quiet.

I get that dogs bark for different reasons, and I know having pets can be hard. Hence, I am asking if you could find ways to make the barking less. I feel that maybe a dog trainer or vet could help with this, or you could make a cozy spot inside for your dog during certain times to keep it quieter.

I care about our friendship and want our neighbourhood to be peaceful. Therefore, if you could understand and help with this, I would really appreciate it. I look forward to talking more and if needed, lend help however I can.

Dear Mr. And Mrs. Gold,

I am Annabeth, your neighbour next door. I wanted to have a chat with you about something that’s been on my mind lately which is the noise your dog has been making at night. Actually, I didn’t want to bother you earlier, but it has been going on for more than a week now and started affecting my sleep.

Every night, just as I’m getting my daughter ready for bed, your dog starts barking loudly. It is so loud that it keeps us awake and makes it hard for us to fall asleep. I have a pretty busy schedule to wake up to. I will have to make breakfast, take my daughter to school, and then head to work. When I don’t get enough sleep, it makes my day really tough.

I know you are great neighbours, and I am sure you understand how important sleep is. I am not sure what is causing your dog to bark at night, but maybe taking it to see a specialist could help. It could be something they can easily fix. I hope we can find a solution together, so we can both get a good night’s sleep.
