Sample Essay 1
In recent times, human living standards have changed drastically. Indeed, modern lifestyles are entirely different from the previous ways of life. I am of the opinion that this refashion is a positive outcome, and this essay will elucidate why.
First and foremost, ample conveniences of various commodities and services, like accessible healthcare, access to proper housing, clean drinking water and so on, have resulted in a shift in lifestyles. Secondly, the electronification of our age has also had a blunt effect on lifestyle changes, like the invention of smartphones, better travelling, and advancement in automobile technology. It has eased our lives to quite an extent as now we can communicate instantaneously across continents, without the worry of boundaries and time lag, and travel greater distances safely.
Humans have also witnessed a rise in dependence on machinery. As industrialisation takes on successive iterations, we are moving towards Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality, which are destined to make human lives even more uncomplicated. Such changes significantly alter our lifestyle as previous actions that took human input can now be computed and executed by a machine without human interference.
Some might argue that the growing prevalence of dependence on machinery has varied adverse effects. For instance, it is making us lazier, as now our daily chores are deputised to machines, and our physical activity is diminishing as we play games on a desktop or a console instead of exerting ourselves on the playground. But, one cannot deny the positive impact automation and newer lifestyle changes have had on us.
Hence, it is safe to say that, yes, the modern lifestyles are very different from that of the yesteryears. And yes, it is a good thing in itself.
Sample Essay 2
It is true to say that the way in which today’s people live has changed from the previous generations. It is claimed that modernity has brought several advantages, but others argue that it causes numerous problems. In this essay, I will consider both sides of the argument and offer my personal view.
Undeniably, people are benefiting from the modern way of life. The most significant advantage is fast communication. Decades ago, it was too difficult for people to make contact with a person far away. Phones were so too expensive that they could not afford to buy them. But now, most people own at least one mobile phone. As a result, with the advancement of communication technology, they can communicate with one another domestically or internationally round the clock. For instance, a person in Asia can instantly send a message to a friend or a relative in America.
On the other hand, the current lifestyle poses threats to the planet. Firstly, natural resources are being consumed unsustainably, and the earth cannot keep up to replenish the depleting resources. This might result in a shortage of non-renewable resources such as oil, coal and gas. Secondly, a tremendous amount of wastage is caused by consumerism. Generally, people buy things, mainly fashion clothes or bags, whether they are genuine needs. It leads to a growing number of dumpsites in significant cities worldwide, affecting public health. For instance, pollution from rubbish piles around Yangon City makes the air unclean and unhealthy to breathe.
In conclusion, modern living is no longer the same as previous generations experienced it. Humans have received both benefits and downsides from it. Nevertheless, it is crucial to embrace the changes, yet, it is vital to be aware of its unintended consequences.

In last two decades, there has been a radical shift in people lifestyle across various dimensions. These changes can range from routine decisions like choice of music to the more complex ones like financial or family planning. While underlying reason for such transformation is availability of choices attributed due to more awareness and exposure, net impact is still debatable and can be weighed under different lenses.
Change is always constant. Technology has brought people together and has also liberated education historically confined to four-walls of a classroom. Today’s generation is smarter and more aware, there have alternatives to choose from based on logical reasoning. Not to forget the so called taboos like mental health and LGBTQ which were once prohibited are being openly discussed and acted upon benefiting entire community.
On the other hand, due to its rapid pace, generations often find it difficult to amicably express their point of view resulting in a communication gap. Also, cultural values which were an adhesive force and an identify are being soon forgotten.
I am a firm believer of living an independent life making my own choices based on logical reasoning. Modern lifestyle has definitely made me a better person by providing awareness, exposure and choices. With some minor adjustments to ensure we are connected to our core, it is a welcome change for all.

There have been arguments about differences between modern lifestyle and the old school daily routine. Some parts of the community believed the changes have been positive while others opposed the opinion. As this is a subjective topic, my opinion goes with the supporting group.
First of all, despite the technology being with us for the entire history, modern technology is by far the most valuable thing to humanity. To show you the importance of the idea, let me give you an example, in the 17th century going from somewhere to somewhere else was only possible on a horse or in a horse-litter in days or weeks. However, now you can go anywhere in the world for under 24 hours by car or plane.
Secondly, healthcare is developed significantly. The average lifespan has risen nearly one and a half times than in the 17th century. In earlier times, you could die from a basic fracture that we can heal under 7 days now.
Although these are positive sides to the discussion, I would like to tell you about the negatives of the modern lifestyle. While technology was improving, it brought something else with it, pollution. The pollution is caused by many things but improved technology is the first cause. The waste we produce, the gases we produce are polluting more than ever. For example, in the first months of 2020, China locked down the most crowded cities of the country due to the outbreak. In the following two weeks, the air started to become clearer. That showed us a downside of the modern lifestyle.
Other than that, there is a second downside to the argument, the economy. Just like technology, the economy has been with us the entire history of humankind. It was trade-based first, then we switched to metals, then paper and at last, it is digital now. It is stated in today’s world, we are in debt as the whole world navies we have more money in digital than we have in the real world. Thus, governments are falling, citizens coup, people are worried about their money. This leads to wars. For example, in 2008, there was a global economic crisis due to the cash withdrawal of wealthy people. We, as average people, suffered from money shortages because we have our money in banks, digitally.
To sum up, even though there are downsides to the improvement and development, living in the modern era is extremely not useful than living in old times
