OET Exam Booking Requirements

The OET exam occurs multiple times yearly for medical professionals. Now, before you move ahead and plan to book the slots, here is a list of things you need to have for the OET exam booking:

• A digital passport photo
• Credit card or payment details
• An Identification document

Digital Passport Photo

There are certain requirements and guidelines that you have to keep in mind while uploading your digital passport photo for OET exam booking, on the failure of which the registration form shall be rendered cancelled.

The uploaded photo needs to:

• Be passport size
• Be in .jpg or .png format
• Be between 200KB and 2MB in size
• Be a coloured photograph
• Have a white background
• Be less than three months old
• Be of the face only
• Have a sharp focus
• Be of you looking directly at the camera
• Head coverings (if worn) should be plain coloured and must be worn in such a way as to show the face from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead, and with the edges of the face visible.
• Be without shadows
• Have no red-eye
• Show you with a neutral expression
• Be with a closed mouth (no smiling, frowning, or raised eyebrows).

Credit Card or Payment Details

Please know that the OET accepts MasterCard and Visa, and all the payments are processed through eWAY or Stripe.

An Identification Document

The identification documents should be presented and uploaded while OET registration.

The OET accepts the following documents:

• Passport: A valid passport is accepted, displaying your full name, date of birth, photograph, and expiry date.
• National Government-Issued ID: Any form of identification issued by the national government in the country that you plan to give the OET from is accepted (this excludes a driver’s license).
• A valid national ID must be in English and should include: your full name, photograph, and date of birth (DoB) – all of these features must be recorded on one form of national ID.
• A European Union (EU) Card is regarded as a National Government ID and can be used for booking and sitting the test. You can use either your passport or national ID on the test day to verify your identity.

Please note that if a National ID is not in English, then a certified translated copy will be required.

One form of valid identification to book and appear for the OET is required. The ID that is provided must be brought on the day of your test. The ID must not have expired, been cancelled, or made invalid in any other way as determined solely by the OET, failing to adhere to this, the ID candidacy shall be rejected.

For refugees/Asylum status cases-

Refugees and asylum seekers without a valid passport or national ID can book OET using official immigration documents that recognize their status. If the document does not have a photo or full name, an authorization letter is required. The authorization request must be submitted within 2 days of booking. The official immigration document and authorization letter must be brought to the test venue.
