Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check my OET results?

To check your OET results, log in to your official OET online account using your credentials. Once the results are released, they will appear in the “Results” section. You will also be able to download a Statement of Results PDF, which includes your Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking scores, along with an overall grade.

What is the passing score for OET?

The passing score for OET varies depending on the regulatory body or healthcare board you are applying to. Generally, a Grade B (350–440) in each of the four sub-tests (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is considered a pass. However, some organizations may accept a C+ (300–340) in one or more components, so it is best to check the specific requirements for your destination country or profession.

Is there a new overall OET score?

Yes, as of January 29, 2025, there is a new overall OET score, meaning OET introduced a consolidated overall score alongside individual sub-test letter and numeric grades. This offers a more complete performance overview.

Can I combine OET results from two different test dates?

Yes, many regulators allow combining of OET results from two different test dates. For example, the NMC UK now permits combining scores taken up to 12 months apart (earlier, it was 6 months), as long as you score B in Listening, Reading, and Speaking, and at least C/C+ in Writing, provided no sub-test score falls more than half a grade below the required level . Since not all countries allow this, always check with the specific regulatory authority.

Will I receive a certificate for OET results?

No, you will not receive a physical certificate for OET results. Instead, you will receive an official digital Statement of Results, which serves as your proof of achievement. This document is recognized by healthcare boards and employers and can be downloaded and shared securely from your OET profile.
