Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fee that I have to pay for the OET registration for all the subtests?

The total OET fee you have to pay for this exam is AUD 587 (not for the USA). However, in case you don’t want to appear for all the subtests together, then you may also appear for a particular subtest (only for OET on paper) as per your choice. It can be done only when you have appeared for an initial full OET or a combination of three or two subtests. For example, the Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing subtest may be either appeared individually or with a combination such as LRW, LSW or WS, RW, etc. In this case, for three, two and one subtest(s) of OET, the fee is AUD 477.50, AUD 339 and AUD 2200.50, respectively. An additional charge of AUD 7 applies to the fee in each case.

If I want to reschedule the OET, what will be the fee incurred?

If your preferred mode of the OET is OET on Paper, then the rescheduling fee for the LRWS is AUD 120 in the case of rescheduling before the closing date of booking and AUD 200 in the case of rescheduling after the closing date of booking. However, if your mode of OET is OET on the computer at a test venue or OET at home, then your rescheduling fee for LRWS would be AUD AUD 120 in the case of rescheduling before the closing date of booking and AUD 200 in the case of rescheduling after the closing date of booking. For rescheduling of the OET Speaking only (for OET on computer and OET at home), the fee is AUD 30 and AUD 100 before and after the closing date of booking, respectively.

Will I get a refund in case I want to cancel the OET on paper?

Yes, you will get a refund depending upon the date on which you are cancelling your test. Before the closing dates of booking, the refunded amount shall be AUD 460 for four subtests, AUD 350.50 for three subtests, AUD 212 for two subtests and AUD 73.50 for one subtest. After the closing dates of booking, the refunded amount shall be AUD 380 for four subtests, AUD 270.50 for three subtests, AUD 132 for two subtests and no refund for one subtest. You can cancel the exam one week before the exam and no refund shall be made post the Sunday after 11:59 PM before the date of the test.

Will I get a refund in case I want to cancel the OET on the computer at a venue and OET at home?

Yes, you will get a refund depending upon the date on which you are cancelling your test. Before the closing dates of the booking, the refunded amount shall be AUD 460 for four subtests. After the closing dates of booking, the refunded amount shall be AUD 460 for four subtests of OET on computer at a venue and OET at home. For the cancellation, you need to make sure that none of the subtests is attempted by you. The cancellation can be made only 48 hours before the exam date.

What will be the fee for remarking of the OET subtests?

The OET has a provision for remarking of the subtests. In case you are not satisfied with the result and you think that your performance has been evaluated wrongly and that you deserve better scores than what you actually got, you may apply for remarking. However, there is a separate fee for remarking. You need to pay AUD 120 for each subtest, which means if you are not comfortable with any of the scores you have got in all the four subtests (in case you appeared for all of them), you will have to pay the fee of AUD 480 for LRWS. Please note that for remarking of the OET subtests, the request can be put through within the time frame of 72 hours upon the announcement of the result.
