The OET Registration is one of the most frequently asked questions by the aspirants. The aspirants might get confused while registering and booking for the OET. There is a lot of hype around the registration process of the OET and many a times, this might end up having you utterly clueless about the same, though it is not that confusing as it seems to be.

Essential Documents for OET Registration Process
First of all, when we talk about proceeding to register for the OET, the first thing to keep in mind is the documents required for the OET registration process. Here is a list of things you need to have:
- A digital passport photo
- Credit card or payment details
- An Identification document

The OET exam takes place multiple times in a year and you need to plan and keep track of the test centres available for the OET test and choose the most preferred centre as per your convenience.
The second important factor that comes into the picture is the mode of the OET that you choose. The three available modes of the OET are as follows:
- OET on paper
- OET on computer
- OET at home
And, the last but not the least factor that is crucial is the OET exam dates.
For 2022, the OET will be held twice every month across various medical professionals. The registration window is well defined for the OET on Paper and has predetermined start and end dates.
However, one that has to be kept in mind is that the bookings for OET on the modes other than the OET on paper, i.e., on the computer at a test venue and OET at home, close 10 days and 7 days before the test date (11:59 PM UTC) respectively.
Registration Process
- The first step in order to register for the OET exam is that you need to log on to the official website of the OET and click the “Book A Test” option.
- Then, you will have to select the country you want to appear for the OET from and thereafter, select your preferred centre (for OET on paper and OET on computer)
- Finally, you will find a registration portal on the official website, myOET and you should register there.
- To create your profile, you must submit your details such as your name, gender, photograph (keeping the guidelines in mind), date of birth, E-mail, identification proof and the ID number, etc.
- Once you have filled the form and completed the steps mentioned earlier, you will need to fill the exam fee (please refer to the website payment gateway) as a final checkout process.
OET registration is not a very tedious process. However, the guidelines and the details (including dates, documents, etc.) should be kept abreast ahead of time in order to have a hassle-free experience.
How to cancel your OET registration?
There may come a time when you’ve registered for the OET exam; however, you’d be unable to appear for the examination for an emergency reason. In such a situation, you can check out the official website of the OET exam to check for withdrawal policy and fees.
Keep in mind that once you’ve registered for the exam and would like to choose a different date or venue, you’ll have to pay an additional fee. Let’s find out more about it here:
Withdrawing the Registration of OET on Paper
- You can withdraw and get a refund subject to conditions through your myOET profile.
- You’ll get the refund a week before the withdrawn test date.
- However, if you paid AUD $7 for online booking, it will not be refunded.
Now, to withdraw the registration:
- Log into the myOET Candidate profile.
- Look for the Withdraw option and click on it.
From your refund, the administration fee and the non-refundable booking fee will get deducted and the rest will be given back.
Note that you won’t get any refund if you withdraw the registration within less than a week before the finalized test date. Also, you must withdraw the entire booking, including all of the subtests. Once you’ve withdrawn the registration, you cannot reverse it.
The fee for withdrawing the OET registration will be:
- Before the booking closing date: AU $120
- After the booking closing date: AU $200
To check the booking closing date:
- Visit test dates and locations.
- From the drop down menu, choose the test type and country.
- Locate your test.
- The booking closing date will be showcased there.

Withdrawing the Registration of OET on Computer at a Venue or OET@Home
- You can withdraw or cancel the booking through the OET account.
- You will get the refund if you cancel or withdraw two days before the beginning of the first test.
- If you cancel or withdraw in less than two days before the beginning of the first test, you will not get any refund.
To withdraw or cancel:
- Visit the login page.
- Once the welcome process is completed, click My Bookings tab available on the left-side of the screen.
- On the booking that you wish to cancel, click the ‘Cancel Booking’ option.
