Aspiring to have a lifelong career in a specific field has gone out of fashion, and individuals nowadays are often engaged in more than one profession. This inclination towards having more than one source of income and searching for better ones is a by-product of the increasing demands for better living standards. Although having multiple sources of income can be worthwhile, the negative effects often outweigh the positive effects when juggling several jobs simultaneously. In the following paragraphs, I will elaborate on both sides of the discussion regarding the topic.

These days if a person is working multiple jobs, they are not considered overworking; rather, the present generation terms this phenomenon as hustling. However, the more intriguing fact is that lately, people are following this trend not just as a means to make ends meet. This lifestyle has become the means for many to fulfill desires not satiated by a single income source. As we progress further into this new era, these modernist tendencies are turning into societal norms.

On the flip side, having numerous employments can be a taxing ordeal and affect both a person’s physical and mental health. Since working for various employers puts an individual under a stressful daily routine, lack of effort and quality in work becomes more frequent, unfavourable in the long run. Consequently, better qualifications are required when seeking high-yielding positions making the need and pursuit for further education constant and never-ending.

I would like to conclude by saying that the notion of having several professions is becoming more and more trendy, especially among youngsters lately. Although such a lifestyle can prove to be a pleasant and even luxurious experience, these commitments should be made keeping all variables in mind to avoid problems like overexertion and pressure at work.
