Model Essay, Band 8.0+
In the modern world, obtaining news on the Internet has become an accelerating trend. I have faith in the likelihood of this trend overshadowing the traditional way of reading newspapers to become the most crucial source of news.
The most obvious proof supporting my viewpoint is the decline in the popularity of traditional newspapers. Conventional newspapers’ nature is characterized by a thorough and time-consuming process of editing, printing, and distributing. This turns out to be a weakness that causes newspapers to fail to meet the instant quest for news of modern newsreaders. In addition, due to the fact that printed newspapers are geographically limited, their reach and exposure levels are be becoming substantially lower than those of online news. Apparently, it is online press, not the traditional one, which helps news seekers all over the globe access local news as well as global news published by a variety of internationally prestigious newspapers including BBC, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal. Such availability of online news far outweighs that of printed news, steadily dominating the news industry.
Moreover, the advantages of online news significantly surpass those of printed newspaper. In this era of advanced technology and communication, the omnipresence of the Internet and the availability of Internet devices have boosted the popularity of online news to the extent that the concept of buying and reading a printed newspaper would become obsolete and inconvenient. Online platforms which facilitate fast-moving and immediate news updates will certainly become the utmost solution to satisfy increasing demand and busy news seekers. Thanks to Internet-based platforms, news about an incident happening half the world away could be retrieved within a few seconds after its commencement, which renders news updates one day later on conventional newspapers out of date.
In conclusion, despite the fact that printed newspapers still hold an important role, I firmly support the tendency that they will be eclipsed by online news.

Model Essay 2
It is true that a growing number of people are using the Internet in order to find out the latest news. While newspapers are still popular, I strongly disagree that most people will continue to rely on them as a source of news.
The first reason for my view relates to the increasing use of the Internet around the world. Recently, a growing number of people have accessed online news via technological gadgets such as smart phones or tablets, so they do not need to buy a newspaper to obtain news. Even in more remote corners of the world, access to the Internet is becoming more widespread and the online community is growing daily.
Secondly, online news is always up-to-date while printed news needs time for editing, printing and delivering. In this fast changing world, readers tend to expect updated information about what has just happened or is happening around them. Online news can be broadcast immediately with vivid pictures and relevant stories, making it more appealing to readers than printed news.
Finally, the Internet is a repository of information for people to dig for information that they need. Digital information can be stored in mass quantity, which allows internet users to search for events that occurred in the past. In contrast, newspapers are generally hard to preserve because of the corrosive effects of the environment and their sheer bulk makes storage difficult. This once again confirms the edge of online news.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the Internet is even now replacing newspaper as the principal medium or accessing all the latest news.
Model Essay 3
The advent of the Internet and other forms of media in the twenty first century has unquestionably brought about a metamorphosis in the way people seek knowledge and information. Newspapers, the one form of media which was once considered highly important, has now entered a state of significant and rapid decline in many places across the world. This has led to suggestions that newspaper will soon become a thing of the past. My way of thinking is that the death of newspapers is almost certain.
Firstly, many people are against reading newspapers because the process of making it is not environmentally sustainable. Even though newspapers today are losing their readerships, a staggering number of trees are being cut down every day to produce them. On the other hand, using digital tools to disseminate knowledge does not necessitate cutting down trees, disrupting animal lives and certainly proves to be more environmentally friendly.
Secondly, readers of newspapers are likely to receive out of date or incorrect information. The fact is that the process of making a newspaper is a long and complicated one, involving many stages such as writing, editing, printing and distribution. This means that by the time newspapers hit the shelves, there might be some changes to the events covered and it will already be too late to make any adjustments.
Nevertheless, some are skeptical about the view that newspapers will die out and their argument is that newspapers are a more reliable source of information than other types of media such as the Internet. However, the truth is that many journalists today display poor professionalism and low morality. Many do not think twice about writing incorrect information in order to increase the readership. This shows that the information in the newspapers is not any more trustworthy than on the Internet.
These points have strongly corroborated my view that the decline of newspapers is not overstated and there will be no place for newspapers in the near future.

Although more and more people read the news on internet, newspapers will remain the most important source of news for the majority of people. Do you agree or disagree?
As internet has overtaken the traditional ways of communication and passing of information, some individuals still continue to read newspapers to stay up to date with the ongoing events. This essay disagrees that newspapers will remain as a reliable source to a large number of people. Firstly, I will discuss the use of internet worldwide, the level of its reliance to all and secondly, Secondly, I will explain why most people who once had a habit of reading newspapers will soon stop doing so.
To begin with, internet has now become a big boon to everyone everywhere because one can quickly search anything they want to read or know about in just a matter of few seconds. Moreover, majority of the society nowadays are all working professionals and with very little time for themselves, they would prefer going through various news updates on their electronic gadgets while travelling to work by a car or metro as opposed to carrying newspapers in hand, which is way more uncomfortable to read through in crowded or public places. It also applies to students where many schools and universities provide children with tablets to study rather than books as they are easier and light weight. For instance, lecture notes are usually typed down or exported to their devices, which are also handy and fancy.
On the other hand, people who have been reading newspapers will no longer completely rely on them as they have other options and sources to look up to. Furthermore, with technology and its impeccable benefits on the rise, there will be no need to waste dozens of paper every day which can also result in saving paper and less harm to the environment.
To conclude, newspapers were once the most important source of information however, as times are changing and new invents are available, people have also adapted to the change. It might not be in their choice to go back to old ways apart from a very few, who do not know how to use the internet.

Nowadays, e-newspapers have witnessed an upward trend as they are easily accessible to people anytime and anywhere. However, I strongly believe that no online portal can ever replace the effect newspapers have on the audience and hence I completely agree with the given statement. This essay will highlight several reasons of why I consider newspapers to be a major and dominant source of news as compared to e-news.
First of all, newspapers are the most trusted and reliable source of information in comparison to online websites that spread fake news to mislead the people. In recent years, we have witnessed several cases where people tend to believe such news and cause disturbances within the society. For instance, during covid-19 there was intense panic among the people as these websites were spreading wrong information about the increasing number of cases. Secondly, trusted e-news websites cost a monthly subscription which is not affordable to all the people and therefore it can never cover the majority of the audience.
Moreover, e -newspaper are not accessible to rural class where smart -phones have not reached until now. Furthermore, these areas have poor internet facilities which make it clearly not possible for them to read e-news. Hence, online news portal is class dominant and is designed for those section of the people who have good internet facilities and can afford paying for it.
To sum up, although reading newspaper online has attracted a good proportion of population, it can never replace the dominance newspapers have.

In this century, most of the people prefer to read the news online rather than newspapers. This new habit might be unpreferable for some of us.However, I strongly agree the idea that newspapers are less important today.
The first reason behind my belief is that in post-modern world order, majority of the people must do their jobs quickly. It is because people in this age are living in a kind of rush hour. It is not only because they have so much work to do, but it is also because burden of the post-modern lifestyle. The anxiety is created by that lifestyle makes post-modern mankind less patient about waiting. Imagine a man who is waiting on the coffee line and reading daily news online. He is not only waiting but also reading without abandon the coffee line to buy a newspaper.
The second rationale is that majority of the news webpages are free of change which means you do not have to pay extra amount of money to read old news. As it is well-known new trend is the saving our mother earth’s natural resources! Without wasting nature and harming forests, people can read news. Thanks to the technological developments we can keep trees alive because the trend of reading newspaper is getting lower day by day.
In conclusion, newspapers are losing their significance in front of the technological developments. As an outcome of these developments online news ensure its readers to be more up-to-date and easily access sources. Thus, I believe that newspapers are old-fashioned and lost its popularity comparing the online versions.

News keeps us aware of what is happening in society through different resources. In the modern world, people increasingly favor online news but reading news through newspapers will still retain its importance for the majority of them. In my opinion, newspapers will fade away as the internet provides more convenient and relatable articles.
Nowadays, no one has time to read a newspaper for hours while having coffee or tea in the morning. People prefer to read the news while traveling to and from their workplace or when they get a break. Therefore, the internet eliminates the need of carrying newspapers in a bag and provides the same authentic news on mobile phones. Further, individuals can open lengthy news on one web page instead of turning pages while reading newspapers. For instance, I often read a one-page long article online while commuting to the office because it saves my time and it is easy to read on a single page.
Secondly, web pages have the capability to find posts that are interlinked to previous search results or the topics that people mostly view. However, newspapers have no such intelligence of information segregation. When we search for a particular topic, artificial intelligence saves the search result and on next day it provides an update about the same news. On other hand, a newspaper contains a lot of unwanted news, and the next day article may totally disappear or be hidden in some corner. Therefore, people can personalize their news section more efficiently on the net. To give a lucid example, I am keen to find out updates on the Russia-Ukraine war and thus get news about it on the front page with bold headlines.
To conclude, some people believe that newspapers will maintain their existence compared to the growing popularity of news on the internet. I disagree with this statement, as online resources offering suitable and intelligent reading strategies have long replaced newspapers.

In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement.
Globalization and civilization have taken a tore on our society today, in that every facet of our existence is being affected by the internet age changes. This inturn have increased the rate information technology services. While some individuals are projecting that printed articles and information will be scrapped because of availability of online news, in my opinion I strongly align to the stated fact and this I shall be expatiating on with some follow up points.
Firstly, the is becoming more streamlined and metamorphosing into a global community, this comes with the 21 century changes that will suit the trend. As a result, individuals will prefer to rather source their information from the social media because it is easily accessible. In addition, there is little or no financial involvement to dig out and read what soever news you choose to. For instance a friend and of mine was preparing for a job interview and in that particular month, a population census was carried out, he envisaged that he might be asked questions related to it so he went online to check for all the facts and datas to that regard, which he got effortlessly. Thus the internet made the searching for information very easy for him.
Secondly, Almost every persons have mobile electronics devices which can browse any information relating to the current affairs of the nation. Moreso, there are numerous news applications that are installed in our electronics, therefore it requires just one click on such softwares to open to all kinds of news outlets. For example statistics shows that eighty percent of mobile phone holders have news applications such as BBC, TVC, NTA, Channels and so on installed in the phone, thereby making it very smooth for them to get hold on any type of happenings they choose to know about.
In conclusion, I have been able to state my reasons while printed articles will be a thing of the past and electronic information technology will be the major source of firsthand information because it is easily accessible, there is little or no financial involvement, also due to the news applications that are installed on every mobile devices.
